The Big Bash League is just a little under two weeks away in what will be the most anticipated BBL we've had to date. All teams have secured some solid signings over the off-season with the eight sides looking fairly even across the board.

This will be the official BigCricket thread for the Big Bash covering news, games, ladders and general chat. Who do you think will win the Big Bash League in 2015/16?

Perth always look average on paper but just manage to get the job done.

It's going to be fairly tough this season I think. Voges probably won't play, neither will Mitch Marsh and we probably won't have Shaun Marsh until after the first test is done. It'll be down to our bowling attack to get the job done as has been the case the last few seasons.

Have C10 decided to bone Mark Howard and Andy Maher from the coverage?
'Howie' was on last night, haven't seen Maher yet though, thank christ.

And the Strikers get Wright hit wicket of all things after missing about 5 opportunities to get someone out.

Sixers won easily in the end. Nathan Lyon finished with 5/23, get him into the one-day and T20 sides for Australia, clearly our best limited overs spinner at the moment.

In the other game, Sydney Thunder made it back-to-back wins with victory over Melbourne Stars by one run. Usman Khawaja guaranteed himself a spot in the Boxing Day test by thumping a century while Kevin Pietersen hit 76 for the Stars who just fell short thanks to a great last over from Jacques Kallis.

Perth Scorchers get their season underway tomorrow hosting the Strikers at the WACA. Hobart Hurricanes play Brisbane Heat on Tuesday while Melbourne Renegades take on Sydney Sixers on Wednesday before we have a mini-break for Christmas.

Whiteman is also out for the Scorchers until the new year due to a fractured finger. Bancroft will keep wicket until Whiteman is fit to play.

The WBBL got underway early in the month, Hobart Hurricanes have been very good so far, losing only one game as have the Stars who have also looked pretty good. The WBBL takes a small break with the next game on Boxing Day between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars.

There's been a couple of WBBL games on TV and the standard has been pretty good which included Nicky Shaw taking a brilliant one-handed catch for the Scorchers today.

Have enjoyed what I have seen so far.

Would love to see the BigBash victor play the Super Smash (NZ T20 comp) champion after every season.. Thoughts?

I guess you probably don't want to mess with your own comp but I wouldn't mint having 2 or 3 new Kiwi franchises in the Big Bash.
