Campaspe Cricket Association

Thought I would start up a thread to discuss what is happening in the league. Use this thread to discuss arrivals and departures at the clubs, game previews and game results and comments.

Good idea lads.

This weeks match of the round preview:

United V BLU @ Colbinabbin.

Should be a good battle between these two sides. Both sides saw finals action last year but stumble in Semi finals. United look set to lose opener Garry Oakley for this week and will hope whoever takes over that spot will be capable of holding it down all year. BLU have lost speedster Adam Shawcross and the cheeky Sam Newth until Christmas and will need a giant effort out of Captain/Coach Greg Pearse. My tip: United to win by 6 wickets.

Anyone wishing to join me down the Cri for a couple of Jager Bombs are more than welcome.

Re: Campaspe Cricket Association

how about we try and get this tread going again.

It's a small comp of only 7 clubs, in and around Echuca/Moama on the Murrey Rver

Nice, I'm looking at going up there with 10 or so mates to go paintballing.

Re: Campaspe Cricket Association

Only 3... I thought 3 different senior grades would've been pretty healthy, when you consider the strong Bendigo DCA only has 3 grades as well. Does each club have 3 grades, or are there plenty of standalone teams? (i.e. they only have a 3rd XI or 2nd XI)

Re: Campaspe Cricket Association

Yeah probably sold the comp a little short with the 'only'. All 7 clubs have 3 senior teams and juniors.. pretty good effort really..

Re: Campaspe Cricket Association

Sorry Hatrick, bit slow with the reply and now all the scores are out however, may as well have some tips for next Saturday -

A's
Rochy Tigers V Bunnaloo - Easy win for the Tigers

Echuca V Moama - Moama to win but not confident, big big chance to be all out for 100 and go zip & 2, also a chance to make 300......

BLU V South - BLU to win, South Bowl better than they bat so will probably stuggle to get anywhere near 265

B's
Echuca
Bunnaloo
South

Re: Campaspe Cricket Association

I'll have to agree with your tips Hatrick, only change I might make would be South B grade may hold their spot at 4th however, it is early days... Pearce has started the season very well and would've been good to watch his 170 on the weekend.... I also agree that Moama will come good and make the top two but not without giving other clubs confidence against them for the rest opf the year due to a poor start...

Hi there this is a little of the beaten track. But could you name some of the guys that play for Moama as I grew up in that area and played for them. I would be after the names of the guys in there mid 30's as that is my age. I remember guys like the Ogden boys. I would be interested to see if a few of the guys I played with are still there.
