Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Any people out there who play in this comp or used to?

Who is the team to beat this season?

Is there going to be any one day games this year? I see there were none last season...

Any players moving clubs? I hear Jason Anderson was poached from the RedHats last year by Campbells Creek.

Also whats the point in the Creek chasing up a result from last year? You lost guys get over it.

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Its because the extra 'C' in the CCCCC they wear stands for 'Crybabys'.

The big move has been that North Bendigo sorry Castlemaine have appointed a dud coach and now train one night in Bendigo which must be great for their local players. Real future ahead for that club.

Well Campbells Creek will fall apart without Jones and then others not playing there this season.

So North Castlemaine you mean Gordon? They train in Bendigo once a week? That a fact?
How can you say the new coach is a dud you trained with them?

Yes we are training in Bendigo one night a week, but that is only of a Tuesday night so our players can get a hit in. Jarrod is a very respected member of our club and would be the best coach in the league by far as on one would have accreditations like him, nor would any club. As for C/Creek its time Ross Hall let go and realised he is a just a shit person in general.

I think Newstead will be tough to beat again but early suspensions will be a key factor. C/Creek will be amongst the mix as well as us. The last spot will go to Castlemaine. Barkers are getting to old, Guildford just dont have the quality or a decent wicket, Kyneton got lucky last year, Muckleford are just plain shit and rely on one person, and Malmsbury may as well go back to A res without A.Brindley.

That is the word on the street and I'm hearing it everywhere.

That the coach is rubbish or training in Bendigo???

Id reckon you must be a Mucklefudder who is jealous and unhappy that you wont win a game this season.

So what about paid players in the league. Players at C Creek were on quite a bit I hear last season.

No one should be paid to play at this level.

C/Creek are a bit like a footy side that they are paying a heap of cash out. word is a certain number 3 is unhappy and wont play there this year becasue of one Brenton Jones.
Who do you think will finish bottom this year outswinger?
My tip is Malmsbury especially without Andrew Brindley. He was the difference in them winning it last year. if he hadnt of they wouldnt have even played finals. I reckon Gordon isnt a Mucklefudder, as he hasnt got much to spruike about obviously. I reckon he's from C/Creek and is trying to cover himself up

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

No dirty Muckleford scum here although if they find some bowlers I wouldn't write them off just yet. Made nearly 300 against us late last year but couldn't defend it.

Who is the number 3 and what is his beef with BJ?

Word is BJ could be joining his very, very, very close mate at the Red Hats anyway.

.

One of their players told me that they were training in Bendigo and I can only assume the coach is no good because he is a red hat.

As for players getting paid I say there should be more of it so I can get the rewards I am due.

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

GordonGreenidge you should not be getting paid anything!!!

If you were good enough you would be going somewhere not playing in the cdca were you have to cheat by flooding your oval so you dont have to play against us .... Weak Muckelford!!!

And Jarrod has been the best coach we ahve had in a while and he has been mixing it up in bendigo giving us the best chance of winning a premiership and not to mention give muckleford and absolute flogging!!!

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Well said little Red Hat it's good to see they just don't play good cricket up there at North they also educate there players.
I hear that both pratice matches went well for the North boys and there was some out standing peformances.
Being pretty well knowen to a few of the North boys the feeling around the club at the minute is VERY VERY exciting which will have a great inpact on the way they go about there cricket this season.
I am taking the punt on the North boys not loseing a game for the whole season and taking out the big 1.
Ova and out from WET WICKET sorry Ronald Mcdonald.:D

Bit like putting ice blocks on the pitch to win premierships.

And if you cant beat Muckleford you may as well give up now. Be interesting to see when the draw comes out if you try and hide against us in the first round of the year like you have for the last few years.

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Well the draw is out and I was wrong. North don't try and catch us first game, must have known we were onto it so they gave us the bye to sweeten the deal.

Lets have a close look at the draw. A certain club starts the year with an A res team, plays the two worst teams in the comp in the one dayers and has the bye the week before Christmas which means they have two byes.

What do teams with the bye get? Some free points maybe.

Who does the draw again?

What a joke.

I believe North played Taradale in the first round last season and they have pulled out of the A grade comp because they were too scared of being flogged every week. Which is a soft option for a cricket club.

I have read on the website that teams with the one day bye get 12 points so I am not sure why you would be worried about that at all.

I am also sure North would never want to hide from anyone talking to one of their players and he said training has been very well attended, won both practice games and they are very well prepared to play any side this season.

It means they get guaranteed points AND have an extra Bye with more guaranteed points. If they played that game and lost they would be lucky to get 3 points. And is it a coincedence that they play putrid Muckleford and Malmsbury who have come from A res twice?

Good point about Taradale though.

You have to remember where they finished on the ladder last season. They only won 3 games. They were not far off from being the putrid side...

What do you think the final ladder will be at seasons end?

I would have to say Newstead, Campbells Creek and Nth will battle out the top three spots. Guildford and Barkers will also be close by. Not so sure about Castlemaine Utd. They overachieved last season with only 2-3 decent players.

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Interesting results from the weekend.

Weakest Campbells Creek side for years, Newstead also missing heaps.

Malmsbury must be putrid and interesting to not in A Res Taradale seem to have lost no-one.

Some new names for Muckleford doing OK, but Guildford missing a few. Might depend which teams get their line ups settled first but hard to read anything from that round.

So true Gordon you muckleford coward

We are in rare form and it was great to see Matty Giri hitting a swashbuckling 165 and even Thommo hitting a surpising 71.
Malmsbury will get better as apparently Andrew Brindley will be back in the near future and is clearly the best bat in the comp.
Castlemaine struggled to get over a 2nd rate C/Creek side however I still rate them reasonably highly. C/Creek will only improve after 6 guys went to Steve Becker's wedding.
How muckleford won is beyond me but good luck to them. Guildford must have been putrid. Guildford were apparently missing a few so they will bounce back.
Newstead were missing numerous from their premiership side form last year. Kyneton, still dont rate much and cannot tell their true form playin a average A Res side Saturday.

This week I expect C/creek to put up a good show against us but we will prevail. Barkers will find it tough against Malmsbury but will win in a close on. Expect Barkers to not change much from last year. Guildford will be far more competitive against Kyneton and steal a win at their home ground. And Castlemaine will slaughter Muckleford, nearly outright in fact despite only having 5 or 6 cricketers

Gordon I have seen you asking on another thread about Country Week. Castlemaine already enter a team. If you dont think it is a good enough team thats goes then pick a rep side that should be the best 12.
