Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

What a disgrace this CDCA is. Time President and Secretary resigned and any other pissant that had a say in calling off matches.

What happens if the weather is under 20? Does that mean its too cold for cricket and the round should be called off.

Dick can you tell me in the by-laws what the temp range is to have a game of cricket in this f'ked up comp.

It will be a cheap year for North and Campbells Creek cricket teams with them not having to pay their players cos the comp don't play cricket anymore.

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

grasscutter, seems weird that you keep bashing north when you have red hats written under your name. whats up with that?

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Good call on calling off all senior matches on the weekend. Calling off the matches doesnt allow for teams who would have played in the heat do be advantaged/disadvanteged by the heat like last week. Colts dont pay players by the way...

Thats your problem president. Your too busy worried about websites like this. Why don't you worry about your problems with the CDCA.

How do you let the red hats get away with their crap?
How does taradale play an 'a' grade cricketer in 'b' grade against kids and smash them around the park? Now thats helping people stay involved in cricket if thats what your league likes to do.
How can your insipid rules allow the captains to make the decision regarding weather. Depending on how your team is going after first week of course your going to play the rules to your advantage?
Is Newstead getting an outrite for last round? Or is the great CDCA secretary going to declare it a draw or 1st innings win because an outrite and full points result may effect the end result of his clubs 'a' grade?

Just a couple of questions for ya president

i think the taradale guy in question hasnt played all year an it was his training run for the year. if he was prepared to play b grade then he has passed the clubs test.. wat about waddo for creek? a grade openin bowler in b grade no questions rasied there?

sorry that i dont have time to go back an read every article posted on here... an im sure ul find that matt waters was picked for a res this game after just the 1 game so no need to worry bout him smashin "kids". an if they bowl short they gonna get punished no matter who bats, so hes done the kid a favour by makin him pitch up

Very honored to be your hero snowy! Maybe hobart would have been a better place to move too or would that be too cold??

Seriously we need a definate rule on the weather. No-one is going to be really pissed off untill their team missis out on finals due to the fact that some games played and others didn't. (just not bloody cricket). Commitee should be canceling all results from that week. (are we the only comp inwhich this happened?)

Possible solutions to this:
-Call all games off prior to Satdy(which was done this week)
-Limit overs (good chance for 20/20 games to be introduced)
-Have a temp range (eg no cricket over 40deg which i think most others comps use)
-Play sunday if weather prediction is different

Is there anyone with other ideas, which will help dick and his commitee to solve this debarkle?

Some good ideas Boochy

One being sounded out is the play A grade Games in the morning, Bendigo are considering moving there current morning Junior and C Grade ( which is made up of senior Players ) and playing there senior and seconds in the morning.

40 degrees seems like a reasonable temperature level - the problem is finals !!! when should the reading be taken ?? Where and how to take the reading. President dick has his hands full and no doubt nothing will change...

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Maybe one option could be moving C grade matches to friday night and starting senior cricket earlier on saturday mornings? It doesnt get dark untill 8 30 pm so if they started at say 5 - 5 30 there would be plenty of light. And obviousy starting earlier on saturdays players would aviod the heat.

Maybe you can use the option of harden up. Softest cricket league in Australia.
