City Of Moorabbin Cricket Association 2011/12

Once upon a time we used to have to drive to Hurlingham Park and deliver the scores. Clubs didn't do it.
We then got faxes and even phoned the scores through. Clubs still did not submit the scores.
Now we ask for a text. I mean how hard is it? clubs still don;t get the scores in. Now we are talking tweets.
Guess what....clubs will still not get their scores in. Time to seriously fine clubs. No excuses just fine them
$10 first offence
$500 second offence
$100 third and subsequent.
nothing like a good old fine to get clubs to focus. If they still do not submit the scores then they lose match points.
Harsh but fair.

Once again Clocker, i have to agree with you, enough is enough of flogging this simple but important task.
Clubs just don't get it, $100 first offence, $500 second offence, mandatory hearing with the cmca executive third offence, loss of points for that round 4th offence.

Definitely no chip, I just don't think they've done anything to deserve a mention as a finals contender this year. Surely to be a finals contender you need pressure coming from below - in a word Depth.

I think that the gap is reducing between The Usual Suspects and The Rest, so the days of assuming to default results to The Usual Suspects without thinking are hopefully coming to an end. Early days though, early days.

PP, you are fairly strong on depth, rightly so and the hoops have serious problems in their lower grades to the extent that they have been ringing around to try and top up their 3rds and 4ths with retired and ex players.
The side they put out in their 4ths last week had an 80 year old excentric, and a club stawlwet who is recovering from health issues.
There are a few other clubs struggling as well, all should be better off now that the gee gees are finished, lets hope so for the comps sake.
The hoops 1st eleven are very capable of finishing in the top four, all are very keen to atone for last season, they will be there at the end, if you can recall last season, the went within a whisker of knocking off uniting in the first semi, they just need to have a good run with injuries.

Here is the draw for the upcoming Under 21 matches. i think Bruce Haley is still coaching and probably have a strong contingent from Carnegie South. Not sure if some clubs bother even telling their players about the Under 21's.

Guys - This email just sent out to all T/20 Clubs. Cheers - Greeny

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Twenty/20 Clubs,

Thankfully the rain held off and we were able to get all games in and played to a result!

Lots of good, close games - lots of entertainment for the crowds (reports indicating quite good interest at
each of the games, especially for our first game).

I would like to thank ALL clubs in getting their game results / highlight player info across to me in great time! This has allowed me to produce this results summary - please pass it amongst your club members!

Note - Scores are largely up on the CMCA Website, so check out the results in closer detail here:-

http://cmca.vic.cricket.com.au/common/pages/public/rv/RoundResults.aspx?entityid=39&id=RV_RRS

Ok - NEWS FLASH - The last 24+ hours has seen a realistic 16th Team emerge, with the CMCA / The Mystery Team / Elwood considering how we can get this team in, play a retrospective game against Elwood (within the next 7 days ideally, but certainly before the Semi-Finals week).

One way or the other, we (the CMCA) will need to have things finalised by Friday. So, please stay tuned and I shall update as things happen. NOTE - this is not yet a done deal, but we will work hard to see if it can work.

Thanks all and I wish us all good luck for next Tuesday (weather-wise!!).

Cheers......Andrew
for the T/20 Sub Committee.

Sorry about a couple names i cant remember.

Probably for the first time ever we have a CMCA team with no players from Bent Utd,Omega,Mackie,Hoops,Juggernaut,Wash Ups or Le Page.

Round 4: Longmuir

Brighton Union v Kingston Heath
Hoops have too much batting depth.

Le Page Park v Elwood
Have to tip the Beach Boys but would not be surprised if the Panethers caused a turn up.

Bentleigh Uniting v East Sandringham Boys Club
Match of the round. Uniting have too much depth.Spinners to get a good work out against the Juggernaut batting line up as it brought them undone in the corresponding match last season.

Carnegie South v Bentleigh ANA
Let's hope the Royals have stopped celebrating their win against what was after all a Woolnough team during the week.

Mackie v Hampton Central
This is a danger game for Mackie.

Chelsea Heights v West Bentleigh
Heighters have now got their confidence and should be to strong against the Cowboys.Hopefully the Cowboys will not repeat the fielding performance they put up against the Panthers. From reliable sources probably the worse display seen in the CMCA for over a decade.

Round 4: Woolnough
Omega v Highett West
Easily.

Brighton Union v Moorabbin West
Hoops are a rabble.

West Bentleigh v Aspendale Gardens
More chance of Jimmy opening the bowling for his beloved Uniting on Saturday than the Cowboys winning.

Cluden v Washington Park
Will we see the good sharks or the bad sharks.

Bentleigh ANA v Hampton United
The Royals still watching the DVD of their 20/20 win against Omega.Have lost focus.

East Sandringham Boys Club v Bentleigh Uniting
Uniting have to be at their best or could suffer a defeat.

Army's Wanderers have a challenge on their hands against a strong Uniting. Will stick with winning form and pick the Wanderers.

Brighton Union v Kingston Heath - gap between the Golfers best and worst is big. Think they'll rebound and this might be closer than most think
Le Page Park v Elwood - agree with our stats guru. Won't be surprised with a turn up.
Bentleigh Uniting v East Sandringham Boys Club - I can't see the old side getting anywhere near them.
Carnegie South v Bentleigh ANA - Spiders comfortably.
Mackie v Hampton Central - Centrals already spoon favourites for mine.
Chelsea Heights v West Bentleigh - Toss of the coin. Cowboys to bounce back if Chopper returns.

Omegav Highett West - 2 ins to help make it 2 in a row for the Kookas.
Brighton Union v Moorabbin West - surprised at the gap in Union's 1s & 2s.
West Bentleighv Aspendale Gardens - could get very uigly if Manders gets hold of them.
Cluden v Washington Park - Wash Ups comfortably.
Bentleigh ANA v Hampton United - taylor made for a big day out (x2) from Bell.
East Sandringham Boys Club v Bentleigh Uniting - again, can't see the old side getting near them.

Army's army to do the job on Uniting

Brighton Union v Kingston Heath
Le Page Park v Elwood
Bentleigh Uniting v East Sandringham Boys Club
Carnegie South v Bentleigh ANA
Mackie v Hampton Central
Chelsea Heights v West Bentleigh

I swear I didn't just copy you Uncle Mick! :D

Tips for Round 4.

WOOLNOUGH

ANA
Bentleigh Uniting

Brighton Union v Kingston Heath - batting strength of Union to get them home
Le Page Park v Elwood - although Le Page not without a chance.
Bentleigh Uniting v East Sandringham Boys Club - should be a ripper of a game
Carnegie South v Bentleigh ANA - ANA are not travelling well enough
Mackie v Hampton Central - Mackie too strong over a disappointing Central
Chelsea Heights v West Bentleigh - in the battle for the Reid Cup

Brighton Union v Kingston Heath Interesting game, I hope the Golfers get up and down from last week's rough, but Union's batting will be the slight difference in the end.
Le Page Park v Elwood Could go either way. Le Page to win at home.
Bentleigh Uniting v East Sandringham Boys Club Uniting will gear up for this game. Much on the line. This will test where the Juggers really are this season.
Carnegie South v Bentleigh ANA
Mackie v Hampton Central
Chelsea Heights v West Bentleigh The toughest match to pick. Should be a great game to watch. Early wickets from Heights bowlers to set up the win, they seem to have the knack so far this season.
