I've also heard a rumour that Aspendale will be looking for a new C/C too.
 
Luke will get on here and confirm as much, but they've already appointed Wayne Fuller as coach. It was decided before they played the GF. Manders was always going to take a step back from coaching, but still play. However, he's made a decision for personal reasons not to return to the Gardens next season. No doubt the rumour mongers will be all over it and there will be plenty of scuttlebutt, but Luke will elaborate on his decision in his own time. I'm sure with the word out there will be plenty of sides clambering for his signature. My guess is he'll take his rightful place back at Gold Cap Park.

I'm sure that whatever he decides to do, he'll be a tremendous pick up. I'd like to wish him the best of luck wherever he goes. If he does decide to return to East Sandy, the reigning Premiers get a whole lot better, esp if Anton returns into the side. Scary!
 
Anyone able to confirm the Manders to Uniting on a 3 year deal rumour? I'd like to say my source is highly reliable, but after the De Haan debacle, I'll simply pose the question til we get an answer from Luke or someone at Uniting.

Comers at uniting must be pissed off if manders is joining them. Where is the clubs future at after manders takes a spot of another young kid. Only for Luke to leave after his 3 year $24000 contract runs out. Uniting you are a joke of a club and if I was a young cricketer there I'd be looking elsewhere for a taste of longmuir
 
It's a 4yr deal, Udh. But good luck to Uniting & to Luke. It's a career decision for Manders. He'll have plenty of knockers, but ultimately he needs to look after himself and his future. As for BUCC, they've built the foundations of a strong club and have topped up from there. Must be printing their own money with the figures being bandied around. Rumour mill has it at $55k the past 2 years plus the big 3 on the payroll in '12/13. Wow! A lot of pressure on the big 3 to deliver after last season's big choke.
 
Uncle Mick, you are missing the picture, as stated in the rules you are only able to pay 2 players, therefore I will make the following points;
1. Your mail is wrong
2. One of Lalor or Russell have either left or not getting paid
3. Luke has gone for no payment:cool:
 
Ah, yes of course. After speaking with Luke last night he's of the belief that both are playing. I guess one of the big 3 are playing for the love of the baggy maroon and gold.

hate them or love them you have to admire Uning for acting while the rest of us are fiddling our thumbs.
our club had just recently discussed possible recruits such as Luke only to learn that if it is true, Uniting has already done the deal.
East Sandy must be devastated, strong rumour, no fact, is that they offered Luke heaps more money but he preferred Uniting. They have also thrown cash at Ash Russell and his brother also to be knocked back.
Appears East Sandy is willing to pay but keeps missing the prize.

I call bullshit!!! Terrible rumour and definitely not fact. Have heard the rumour that Ash is starting to get the itch for coaching, but my guess is he's got more important things on his plate at the moment. A highwayman shopped himself around, but has decided that all bets are off and will stay at home. Elsewhere, Bells are ringing about a Woolnough player being courted by Wash Ups.

Nice try, SB. East Sandy have not thrown cash at either Russel brothers. Clearly trying to cause a stir and good luck with that.

We haven't paid for a high price recruit since Jon Anderson in the mid 80s. We were reluctant to do so even to get Luke back but we decided it would be the right thing to do to try and get a homegrown (sort of) player back at the club. Out of respect for Luke, I'm not going to go into figures discussed but I can tell you one thing that is fact, what we half discussed with Luke was nowhere near Uniting's offer that "was too good not to accept".
 
Maybe uncle mick can go and be east sandy's massage boy !! Instead of being balls deep in them on the forum , maybe just go and play in their 4 ths and then you can hang out of their arses !!!! Knob
 
Well well well, surely those in charge at Uniting know they can only pay 2 players! But to be honest there are ways around it, we managed to pay, Goro jnr, Kingy, Moose, Ano, Kuzma, Cove, Gregory in the same season & float a brown envelope under the table to secure the Longmuir GF in the past.
Well said to Marto, was thinking there will be a handful of people crying fowl on here who were after Luke's services, i guess it just goes to show that the powers that be are on the ball at Uniting to act quickly and precisely, is it true it's a 4 year deal???
That's a amazing get if it's the case, Luke will finally stop club hoping and Uniting have secured a young talent for 4 years guaranteed, not sure i quite agree with UDH, if it was a 30+yr old recruit then yeah i agree but Luke is what 22? 23? it's frightening to think he will get better.

Anyway just enjoying a glass of Red as i look out over the Bay from my balcony in Brighton.....Tax payers money well used, if anyone wanst any free advice how to screw the goverment and the Cmca please email me to noelpullsalot@union.com

Given that manders to uniting seems to be confirmed, and if they manage to retain the other 2 (though word is lalor is going) should it be questioned that uniting hold the 3 biggest positions on the cmca committee.. even though im sure these blokes are more than qualified and no dount their isnt an abundance of people putting their hands up for these positions, this surely is an inbalance of power.

Regarding there recruits been paid by a company with a connection to the club........is that allowed?? If so open check book at Union just email me interested personal to noelpullsalot@union.com

Also Lalor is staying at Uniting i have been told, that is fact, So as i am aware no outs and ins: Manders & Ernst!

Pretty sure I explained why he chose BUCC - "too good to refuse" and one that "no other club in Victoria could offer".

Early May and there's plenty happening on the CMCA forum. Just the way this cmcafan likes it!!
It'll be interesting to see which of the big 3 aren't getting paid next year at uniting. Has the AGM happened yet? Would be interesting to hear Coxy's opinion on all of this.
