Actually, Don't worry too much about that mate. European's especially in that area are known for their stubborness and having the ability to think they are never wrong. Mum is an IOC (Volunteer manager basically) for one of the major exchange student programs in Australia & she has the most problems with European's being rude, and Asian's staying in their rooms !

Well, I really don't have a magic pill solution here. Punching him in the mouth wouldn't solve much, other than giving you pleasure of shutting him up for a while. He will still hold his views, and in fact, he may turn it around and say "You see, YOU'RE the intolerant one". Personally I think both extremes (left and right) are idiots. You can sit back and listen to someone expound extreme views, opposite of yours and take pride in the fact that you aren't as messed up as he is. You can try rationalizing, but I will admit that is very hard with those who subscribe to extreme views. You need to keep in mind history (of nations, of peoples) and upbringing play a big big part of ones views. As long as he isn't violently expounding his beliefs, I would not worry too much. I will say this last bit, one of my favorite quotes, which has been attributed to various thinkers, but Voltaire is the one I hear most referenced: I may not agree with what you are saying, but I will fight to the death you're right to say it. There are billions of people in this world (Most of them in China, then throw in Cuba, North Korea, and a handful of others) who still live in nations where individual ideas/ beliefs are not permitted. It may not be much, but at least be thankful you live in a place where different ideals and ideas are permitted. The world is full of unmarked graves and prisons with those who dared to speak up and voice "unpopular" opinions.

Dude, you're a Richmond supporter. There ain't much I can say. The AFL is what it is. And there is just no place for happiness and joy among Richmond fans after that debacle. However, your team is your team, and you must stand by them through thick and thin, kinda like that old country standard "Stand by your man". Chin up, just one game. Won't happen again. Hopefully.

I didn't watch this game, i went and saw 300 with a mate, heard the scores at half-time and decided to do something else. Wise decision IMO.

I still am amazed by that collapse when they were ahead though. i don't get to watch it as much as I used to, but I still read up on it as much as I can. That collapse a few weeks back reminded me of a Monday Night Football game, Dolphins and Jets where the Fins had this huge half time lead and the stinkin jets came back to win
