Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10

how petty are dvca when it comes to putting scores on my cricket, forgot to update the 2nd innings bowling stats for last round which was due to a computer and its operator but to get fined for not having a e grade players name in lower case is a bloody disgrace. i believe scores should be updated by 10pm but all stats should be completed by monday 12pm,what happens if the computer your on shits itself at least with a day up your sleeve you have some leeway

Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10

Well, well, well! One week it works for you, the next against you. Nth Eltham on the right side of the ledger this time against an Epping side not wanting do die wondering. Always an interesting state of affairs at this time of the season!!

Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10

And all of a sudden it is Eltham back on the bottom, and heading for Money..... what a game, Epping were headed into the mix for the finals, and all of a sudden NEW are alive again.

How did you arrive at your three divisions? In my opinion the last thing the DVCA needs is another couple of NMCA clubs, they add very little to the competition. I also think one day cricket is second rate cricket.

Based on other successful comps, 2 divisions of 8 sides, (Barclay and Money) play 7 one day games and 7 two day games, therefore playing everyone home and away.
3rd division would contain 10 sides. Same format as Barclay this year.
So it would be bottom 5 sides in Barclay down, premier of Money up, and bottom 10 sides in Money to form a new division 3. May be known as ?????...
No wonder the comp wants mergers and possible that some clubs could fold if they do not meet the criteria. Minimum amount of sides, juniors, milo programs etc.....

I posted this about 3 weeks ago ( on the Money thread) and somehow it has been taken down, needless to say, this will be going ahead, possibly in 1-2 years, the comp needs to be a lot more competitive, far too many sides being rolled in 40-50 overs, and getting done outright.....for a side like Riverside who bat their 80 nearly every week, and never look like getting beat outright, this is just not fair......bring in playing everyone twice, more competitive seasons, and all of a sudden we will have some good cricket being played.

Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10

Epping BS side really do need a mirror to have a hard look at themselves. What a joke.

2 games in a row to be reversed outright by two low (but mostly honest) teams to throw away finals is plain stupid.

Has anyone down there actually passed grade three math to see that just winning could have meant they played finals.

If you think 1 win in a season is acceptable you are obviously one of the pea hearts that bat in their middle order, that has shown very little ticker this year. Word around the other Barclay Clubs is that your gone, not to return for a very long time.

1 is unexceptable, but a massive reverse outright making it 2 will be just enough. Just enough indeed.

Whats the word round Barclay now numnuts?

Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10

How good is this coming right down to the last round. Eltham must beat Bundoora and rely on Riveside beating NEW. Good round of cricket coming up. Good luck to Macleod 2nd season in Barclay and a good chance of playing finals.

Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10

Apparently North Melbourne CC are leaving the city and considering a move into the Northern suburbs next season. Can anyone confirm they are talking to Banyule council this week?

I do recall a few years back there was speculation they would be moving to either Latrobe Uni or Cragieburn.

Macleods 2nd year.

And also a chance for Macleod to not turn up week one (take a week off, send in the U/12s) and return in week two and reverse Epping.:D

NMCC have already held talks with Old Paradians about a merger. Heard that both parties are keen for it to progress.

Who are these other successful comps? NMCA? HDCA? I hope not.

Rather than change the structure of the comp to deal with clubs that are dragging it down, just get rid of them or make the merge. There are too many clubs that are just not up to it.

Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 09/10

Love to have been a fly on the wall at Epping on Saturday night. I'd assume there was a few frayed tempers.

Probably similiar down our camp. More embarrassment than grumpiness. Unfortunately when a club has a dirty round collectively, people can become somewhat touchy. Silly statements and comments. "He should have played", or "why did he get a game?". " Why didnt the captain make the change earlier?". Usually, people making them statements are the guys who dont have the answers until after the fact and most likely failed themselves.
Well done NEW. Obviously the job is not over. If I remember correctly, Eltham beat Bundoora last year. May the best team stay up.

ps- When Bundoora reads this. I quizzed my old man about the LBW. He now feels bad and we are not talking for the time being. He got real dirty when I told him that the players around the league are calling him Dickie jnr!
