DVCA Barclay Shield 2010/11

Lower Eltham

Bundoora United
Montmorency
Diamond Creek
Riverside
North Eltham
St. Francis
Plenty
Panton Hill
Camrea Taipans
Macleod

According to the DVCA website the above have nominated for the new tri-association 20/20.

I have to ask, why in hell would the other 9 teams in BS/MS not nominate? Honestly with the popularity of 20/20 and having had a few last year (that where cracker of nights that made clubs money and everyone had a ball), I am amazed that every side was not competing.

Re: DVCA Barclay Shield 2010/11

Gibbsy does get on here, but a post here and there. Not jawing off like champion when you haven't played DVCA yet. Saying "we will get the job done", i'm pretty sure thats what he has thought the last 3 years. All the Riverside boys are on here mouthing off, and don't get the results that they should. Maybe they should be spending more time in church than on BC???
Calling some one down syndrome & religiously velifying someone or a Club is poor form. Going by your response to Strangler I suppose he is lucky he is not of another colour or race.

If someone wants to talk himself up on this forum, good-luck to them, as they are the only ones who will need to walk the walk.

As for the $ suggestion, I suggest you do a little more homework before making ill-informed assumptions on a club you obviously know little about.

Isn't that calling the kettle black? There was no religious vilification of any sorts! Yet you continue to call me a racist by suggesting i would make mention to his race?? I think you should take not of your last line before posting.

Now to some cricket......CowCorner, I saw that to on the website. I am on the committee at Elltham and have been to the AGM and all committee meetings, and I have not heard the 20/20 comp mentioned at all. I don't know if it was the cockroaches call to not play and there was no discussion, or if we don't know anything about it???

Looking forward to this. It will be great fun and good money makers for clubs. I am also wondering why any club would not nominate for it too. Very strange.

I congratulate your position on the Eltham Committee but saying comments like "Maybe they should be spending more time in church than on BC???" could be considered as Religious velification. Doesnt bother me but it could bother some.

As for the 20/20 Comp, you have to be in it to win it.;)

Strangler i may be putting 2 and 2 together, but are you the young fella from Northcote who sent an email to everyone at the club last season, sooking about how you werent getting a fair go?

I should dig it up from a mate and post it on here for everyone to have a good giggle at. haha with your permisson of course

I highly doubt I would have sent an email to every1 at the club. I can remember having a whinge via email (and various other methods too) to a select few. Not embarrassed by this  had good reason to whinge.
As for the email. If it does exhist See if you can dig it out, if anonymysly posting a private email on this forum makes you feel better then go right ahead.

I can assure you the DVCA send calls out months ago and this has been discussed and re-emailed a few times, you know about it. I reckon someone made the call at your Club and really find that surprising. I did mention it to another on your committee recently as well.

You would be under a fair bit of pressure this year yourself Vaughny. I hear there are some good kids playing E grade this year.

The hardest part will be to get passed the wife at 11.30am on a saturday, not sure exactly what grades we have, but happy to play as picked.

Now Now.....play nicely you two.

Lets not go there....again.

The cricket season is fast approaching and no doubt it will be interesting to see how the four piece ball effects, if at all, the top two grades.

100%Bull - Is Whitson going to re-establish himself as an A grade opener this season? Still good enough I reckon.
Hope so, the side is better with him at the top. At least 'B' grade and if a few blokes dont get runs in the first four rounds his straight in. It'll be a good thing for the club, Whitson, Powell and Wunhym all in the top five, turn the clock back circa 1988.

ECC Committee was on tonight. Eltham ARE playing in the 20/20 comp. The website has it wrong. So there may be other clubs participating that are also not on the list on the website....

How is Lower Elthams "Star" recruit?? I have heard whispers that you guys have signed him up on little coin, yet he is likely to start in the twos????

Regarding your first comment, mmmmm, wonder if I know someone on that committee that had a different interpretation of what is going on....anyway, good to see you are in, hopefully you will cook some good snags whilst the game is on Tongs.

Star recruit??? WTF are you gossiping about mate. Oh the kid who was not wanted with his old Club deciding to come and try something different, especially as a good mate of his plays here. Yeah right. He is more than welcome and training the house down. I am sure he will be picked where the Coaches and Captains decide is best. As he finished up playing last year in BR I am sure he is under no illusion that selection in a higher grade is automatic.

On the matter of coin, sounds like you are listening to rumours and crap again DQ, or just starting them again. You may want to believe the truth or what you want to believe (which includes rumours started by you) what ever makes you guys happy and secure.

No real relevant meaning just thought it was funny.

Would love to cook you some snags. With you the size of a house at the moment, the money you spent on enough to fill you would pay for 3 Victorian cricketers to come play for ECC :p

Not gossiping about anything, I was told by a Lower Eltham player that he is getting a little bit of coin. I have also heard that he is not training the house down at all, i was told that you guys organised specialist coaching for him and he didn't go because of a mystery illness that happened to disappear the next day? This recruit also told me that he was told that he WILL start in Barclay shield.

As I have said to you, I was gutted he left and i tried to talk him out of it a number of times. But you guys put an offer to him he couldn't refuse. I wish him luck! Just not against us!

Firstly champ my profile is far from a secret on here.

Oh my understanding is more than a few recieved this email last year. I would have thought that when you emailed your whole club, this would have rendered the email public and not private!

Just a question though. If your form is not up to the lofty hights of your reputation and somehow you get dropped will you please post your winging on bigcricket instead of email. I feel as we are all part of the bigcricket community we deserve to hear the truth....
