Mine are,

Plenty V Bundoora
Riverside V Research
Lower Eltham V Macleod
Diamo V Lower Plenty

Quite a few games that could go either way there...

Pleased to see the strong junior program at Plenty bearing fruit, wonder if Ian 'chooka' Hennings will be availble for the under 21 team this year. Chooka's a great bloke and a great competitor but it suggests there isnt as much junior quailty as Premiers Again would have us believe.

What are you talking about mate? Mitch Johnson who is turned 15 this week played his first game last week in the 1's as a bat and Dan Cocking who is also 15 played his first match in the 1's as a bowler and both have been selected again against Bundoora.

Chooka has been to every pre season training bar one and has been fully committed to having a real crack at playing as high a grade as possible this season.

Before you shoot your gob off do some homework and get all the facts before you make yourself look stupid.

This Weeks Barclay Winners
Eltham Vs Lalor Stars
Mernda Vs Epping
Plenty Vs Bundoora
Riverside Vs Research
Lower Eltham Vs Macleod

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Any Lalor Star or Eltham boys playing in Barclay Res your game has been changed to Thomatown East Reserve..

How does that work, wouldn't Thomastown United's thirds or fourths play there?

Managers do as they please Hoggy! Lucky you don't make a living out of running between the wickets!

Not real sure how it works, our 2nd were ment to be playing there now changed to Findon. With so many grounds out of action its making it hard for every one.

Thommo grounds not that bad good for a 1 dayer!

Good luck.

Two 15 year olds, collectively they are still 10 years younger than Chooka who hasn't had a sniff of A grade for years. Great to hear his having a real crack, good on him, I'm sure your quality kids that missed out enjoy watching him running around. Then again I suppose you have a few holes to fill after all those blokes who "loved the club" and weren't "playing for money" just up and left. Good to see you flying the flag for your club.

who is chooka and what has he done ?

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Chooker is the exact reason why Plenty is such a strong club! The old blokes either hang around for years, or come back to support the young guys. It was a shame that Pavey (old Eltham boy) and Lovey left the club, BUT these to blokes put so much blood, sweat and tears into the club and deserve to do as they like without disrespect from wankers on here.

As much as I love the Eltham boys knocking off the great club, good luck to the Plenty boys this year.

You are spot on Tongs about the reason our club will forever be strong. With the likes of Chooka, Ralfy, Strangers, Jock, Hubbs and Turners still playing between the 1's and 2's we have heaps of expierenced blokes mentoring the kids.

And just to let everyone know once and for all David Love has not left the club. He has is playing Barclay Shield tomorrow Vs Bundoora. His young fella is starting cricket this season in the under 12's where he is Co-Coach in the Modified team. David has no ambition to ever leave the club and as he has said to me many times all he wants to do now is enjoy the family atmosphere our great club offers. His boys are 6 and 4 and they are happy at Plenty.

You are a fool and can believe whatever bullshit you have in your pee brain about what reasons people have for staying or leaving Plenty, however like i said before do some homework and find out what is actually going on around the place before you make yourself look like a moron. Our club isnt just about the development of our 1stXI, nor the 2nd or 3rd. It is about the development of each of the many young individuals as both a player and a person. This is a policy the club has had for many years now and it's just starting to bear fruit now. 70% of our senior playing list is under the age of 19 years old.

I'm glad somebody missed me!! Interesting first round, Lower Plenty are going to be bloody good this year me thinks, Epping still strong obviously and Plenty will bounce back with Lovey playing from now on! Bundoora don't look as strong as last year on paper but time will tell, Riverside a bit of a shock loss but will be thereabouts, same with Creek, unbelievably good young side in my opinion. Lower Eltham will have to improve after that effort but a solid outfit, all looks good for an interesting year!

Eltham Vs Lalor Stars = If someone else other than skips makes over 40 they will win. If anyone under the age of 40 does anything for Lalor it is a bonus, win lose or draw.

Mernda Vs Epping - Epping will smash them, are outrights possible in 1 dayers?? Could get ugly.

Plenty Vs Bundoora - Plenty to belt Bundoora, Rosbrook to take a bag and Lovey to get amongst the runs, I am worried even though they lost last week. Curtin to continue to struggle....Must be the blonde stuff??

Riverside Vs Research - Siders to bounce back although from all reports Malone is bowling some real heat this year so will be interesting. Can the pig make an impression??

Lower Eltham[/B] Vs Macleod - Lower to beat the new boys unless Wadds gets going against some of the pop gun mediums in lowers lineup. Cal Still can only improve from Round 1 (golden) and Burgoyne early favorite for the medal...Salvatore should not open the batting, seriously....

Diamond Creek Vs Lower Plenty[/QUOTE] - Arnberger is due for a ton, Zerafa will probably make one aswell, they are the real deal i reckon.

JB's Shadow - relax champ, its all good fun!

Peace

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

What is going on down at Eltham, you blokes are up shit creek. Dick Hall your best bowler and Whitey taking the gloves your season looks very bleak.

Interesting call for Burgs to win the medal. Queit day yesterday, but will improve on that effort. Will bowl 20+ overs a game so will have his chances to take multiple wickets.

You can't get it through your head can you? If you also look at my posts I have given Snowy the biggest whack of all! I can safely say to you, that I am not Snowy! As for him being in the top bats, he is fairly handy, and I threw up quiet a few names.

Davo, you are being a clown. Stay off the grog when you write on here pal.

My Ladder prediction 08/09

Plenty
Epping
Diamond Creek
Lower Plenty

Bundoora
Riverside
Research
Lower Eltham
Eltham
Macleod
Lalor Stars
Mernda

although i really think this year could be the closest we have seen in years, with anybody being able to beat anyone on their day.

Good luck to anyone who correctly tips it spot on. We should do a tipping comp and closest to the pin

Hey mate you might wanna rethink your ladder.

You have Mernda and Plenty mixed up..

Whats the scoop the way you have been talking them up all pre season thought we had a super team on our hands...Never pays to shoot your mouth off pal...
