Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Nah, you can change as much as you want. I played against Mick Mckeon (sp?), who at the time played Money Shield at South Morang in a H Grade game. To his credit though he only bowled 1 over and batted pretty low in the order.
Would rather face Mick Mckeown than Dale McDonald ( who played in the lower grades all of last year ).

This is the truth.

Went out to face him last year without a helmet.
He asked " why aren't you wearing your helmet ?"
I respond " I'm tipping you have slowed down since I last faced you 15 years ago "
First ball went past my nose, second ball I pulled him for 4 through mid wicket ( eyes closed ), third ball was down leg, 4th ball past the edge, 5th ball - back in the pavilion ( relief )

Lucky Dale struggles to turn on a computer, he'd be in his element with everbody talking about his favourite subject! All we need now is someone to post how underated he was with the bat:D

Other than our H Grade team this year, which is a regrettable set of circumstances, but we're far from alone there, I can't remember the last time any Diamo side has forfeited. Certainly it's been at least a couple of years.
You don't have to take the post seriously, I wasn't expecting DC to seriously pull out of the game. I had nothing to do, so I picked a topic and wrote some **** on the internet.

As far as the rest of the thread since Creekside's post, I'm liking it! :):) Calling out players, who could play higher grades, but play in the lower grades. Could use the thread to shame all players/teams/clubs who do that.

Relegation for a lot of clubs this week.

1 down from Barclay to Money
3 down from Money to B
5 down from B to C
7 down from C to D
9 down from D to E

Unlucky for some sides in D grade that finish 6th, fighting for a finals spot this weekend, and a loss and they will be in E grade next year.

If 9 sides are going then its hardly a relegation. More like a renaming of the grades. Like when they changed B2 to C. Its the same clubs and players so nothing really changes. Only people's egos will need to get used to playing in a grade with a different letter.

And to be quite honest, outside the top 6 in D Grade this year, a lot of sides will struggle to be competitive against most Money Shield 2nd XI's so it's not necessarily a bad thing with 9 coming out of C Grade.

Going to bit of a gap between some sides 1st XI and 2nd XI
Lower Plenty
Mill Park
South Morang
Thomastown United
Camrea Taipans
Bundoora
Whittlesea
at the moment these 7 will be re-graded into D grade next season , barring any outrights in last round. Only Bundoora is the clubs 3rd XI playing in D grade.

Must agree with you Prez, is why we were so keen to keep our 2's in B grade, but on the other side of that is that B grade next year could have 4 1st XI teams in it, and if your 2's are getting flogged each week, as Mill Park have shown, it may be better to play against other 2's sides and gain some confidence in players.

Played against them in a F/G grade final a few years back. A regular 1sts/2nds player of their's scored 150no. Chasing, we ended up about 120 short.

If they were a regular 1/2s player, how did they qualify? Are you sure you just weren't good enough?

This year, they have stacked their B grade team full of ones players....

Game not won by us yet, but their B grade 1's team was not all that flash first hand on the weekend.
May not be the lock in that everyone is talking about with them going back up to Money shield next year.

Theres 108 teams in the whole of the DVCA (Seniors). Of all those sides, only 2 of them are undefeated. Yet you think they are not that flash?

If they are not near enough to a "lock", I don't know what is.....
