mate, dont even dare to bag people about talking each other up. atleast we say silly remarks about other people in our team and not ourselves.for the past 6 months you have been saying embarresing stuff like your the future of cricket and you bowl 140 clicks.

so before you jump on the ban wagon of bagging all us boys just so you can make a mate have a look at what your saying and dont be so hypocritical.
pfft please,
you point out one instance of an exaggeration of my bowling, and a few "apparent" other talk-ups which probably didn't even occur, when this entire forum is clogged full of 4,354 pages of bundoora love, which I find ridiculous, and somewhat annoying flicking through all the pages of crap, and you point out ONE post of mine?

If you find other instances where I have talked myself up to the heights of the almighty bundoora cricket club then be my guest to show them.

Not wanting to start an argument riley, no point of malice over an internet website, just trying to prove a point and we'll leave it at that.

if i'm not mistaken, when did I ever bag your club, or your players for that matter?

my tip is juniors will get a start by about 10 they will get called off and then seniors will all get told not to even bother coming.

Re: DVCA Juniors

i havent been in the game a couple of years and was down watching a 16 2s match last weekend and noticed theres a chick playing for yarrambat.

i cant remember playing any girls while i was around and just wanted 2 no if there are many and well if any of em are any good?

wat do we think of girls playing our game lads?

Re: DVCA Juniors

i think the most overated cricketer in the d.v.ca is mitchel burton. i think hes not strong enough to hit a ball through the field and has strugled making runs all year.:)

Why shouldn't they play with the boys?

Up until a certain age there is little difference in strength and what difference there is, generally equals out due to females developing skills slightly earlier then males.

Providing adequate changing facilities are available (i.e separate) then there should be no real issue.

Of course the old fashioned mentally of girls should not play sport still exists, maybe even more so in junior cricket. Most often it's down to a fear of being 'shown' up by what is perceived to be the weaker sex, especially considering the emphasis placed on sport as a social marker by males.

Re: DVCA Juniors

A few seasons ago my son was captain of a DVCA rep side,They went on to win the flag. In that team there was a young girl And I can tell you all she put some of the boys in that side to shame..My son was the keeper and the girl hit his glove from any boundry on the ground 1 of the best arms for a boy or girl I have ever seen at that age! I agree why shouldnt they play?

Re: DVCA Juniors

There is a girl Rebecca Morris for my club, she plays U17's she is 15 i think and is wicket keeper and is the best keeper in our side. She is still eligible to play u13's or u14s i think because girls can play 2 years above her age. She doesn't stand out in our comp with the boys but is the only one around the comp playing. But when she goes to play with the girls she dominates, she is in the vic team and has made plenty of 50's and for Falcons in their recent carnival she sciored a century and 3 50's. Remeber that name that is if anyone foloows girls cricket lol, because she will just about play for australia I reckon. .

Then I just gotta say, thats a 100 - 150 on any other ground. Evidence in that our senior blokes made 433 their with 2 tonnes and an 86. Disgraceful ground. Geez, if i was to get set, I'd make a 50 on it.

Mate, it doesn't matter which ground it is at, you still have to get the runs.

Yeh 433 against a bowling attack with an average age of about 15 and with a former higher grade player in your side scoring a century. Yeah, lots of evidence there...

And if you get set at Campbell Street and only get 50.. you have failed.

Not when its me champ.

Wasn't it you that said that Williams 221 wasnt against a great bowling attack? Well then its horses for courses. 15 year olds can still produce ripper balls. When you think about it, some of the most talented people are the juniors. So age means nothing.

The fact is, Campbell Street, more often that not, produces ridiculous amount of runs. Same as St Andrews and Glenauburn.

Whilst, as I said, Im not knocking the bloke, however the size and speed of the ground and even the pitch should determine the rating.

Hence why Groomy's ton on Redleap is remarkable considering the corridor of uncertainty outside off in which balls can bounce right over your head or drop to your ankles.

Yeah, I did say that it wasn't against good bowling but you said that it translates to only 100-150 somewhere else and I disagree. The balls he was hitting would go to the boundary on 80% of grounds in the association. And the pitch at Campbell Street is not that good, it is very flat and the occasional ball does roll.

I guess I will report back on the Redleap pitch after tomorrow morning, I assume you will be on the opposition.

Well 100-150 was exaggerating, Campbell Street does add runs though. Just a case of you had to be there I guess.

And nah mate, I'm too old to play juniors, just an avid supporter of the MPCC. :D
