do we think its fair that NEW have to share 3 points with whittlesea, despite the horrible circumstances, that could cost them finals?? comments?

I dont think anyone wants to take anything away from the terrible circumstances that Whittlesea and surrounds have had to endure and will continue to feel for some time. It is not Whittleseas fault that they had to forfiet as it is not the oppositions fault that they are subjected to the forfiet.
The simple and fair solution under the rules and spirit of the game would be the following.
Given that the game is a forfiet the opposition should be awarded the 6 points under the rules of the game.
With any game able to yield a maximum of 10 points then in the spirit of the game Whitlesea should be awarded the remaining 4 points.
This then does not penalize either side for these unfortunate circumstances and allows teams to carry their own destination for the remainer of the season.

The other alternatives are to award no further points for any of the competitions where Whitlesea has had to forfiet games in, or in all games Whittlsea has played in award only 3 points to each opposition side that has won.

It should be reminded that we all understand and respect the tragedy and we all feel for the good people affected by this, but there are other clubs in the area that have also been affected. Players have worked hard all year to get where they are and should be given the same opportunities as the remaining sides in the competition.

With respect to all who have suffered.

yeh and that is very bad!

All I said Ferg is that SM are a chance to make finals, and u said that we wouldnt have a chance of a flag. I'm not doubting it. All i'm saying is u guys will have minimal chance of winning the Grand Final. Fair.
And u get on your high horse and act all defensively.
m8 its all fact.

Any results from this morning going to alter the shape of the finals series?

We won this morning against Mill Park, by 9 wickets.
Well batted to Trent Groom who got another 50.

The kid is a freak (but like you's didnt know that).

Equal top scores in MP Senior 1st's the same day.

Also, I'd like to send a well done to one Nathan Andrews on a match saving 94 in Seniors.:)

exactly right, its in the rules that if the opposition do not play a fixtured game then they'll give the points to the opposition, i no its tragic circumstances, so this option is the best, doesnt hurt NEW and doesnt take anything away from whittlesea, why wont the DVCA take this onboard and think about it. What if it was DC who was in this position and their finals were threatened?

I don't understand what relevance Diamond Creek has to do with this ?

i dont mean anything bad by it, it would just be interesting if any other club really was put in NEW's shoes...

I think if anyone was put in a position where they could miss out on finals due to this inncident they would be upset
BUT a vote will go out to all clubs on wednesday.

The way the fixtures have work out the 4 sides fighting for the final 3 spots are playing the bottom 4 so if the sides push hard unuff they can set there own faite.
the latest news is that t-towns grounds have been closed by there council
this means te DVCA are looking for a ground for T-Town v DC if no ground is found the game will be deamed a draw.

So an outright will be handy for any team this week

Re: DVCA Juniors
