Mill Park should take care of Panton Hill..... Should!
Yarrambat V Sth Morang to go either way... both good bowling attacks.
Im going to go with Bundy Utd over Thomo.... alot of runs lately alot of confidence.
Monty to fire up against NEW make or break for NEW.
Game of the round College V Franks... lets hope the rain holds off for this battle.
Whittlesea to stay there abouts with a win over Hursty.

Anybody played with the idea of a lightening premiership 20/20 comp b4 xmas on a weeknights.... surely the DVCA would get a heap of people turn up... eg Melb Vs Northcote at Binnak.

Geez the batting line up must have been super excellent cause the only thing those 2 duds would be doing is bringing it down!!

The only thing excellent in that line up is Al Mann.

Re: DVCA Money Shield

Panton Hill v Mill Park - Mill Park should come away with the win. Although Panton Hill always dangerous with a few good players! Need mothcy to make 100+

Sth Morang v Yarrambat - Yarrambat to give Morang a spanking.

Bundoora United v Thomastown United - Thomo will win with George to take a bag. United arent that great..

Montmorency v NEW - Close game, could easily go either way but i will monty to win, whynum hitting them very well

St Francis v Eltham College - Another good game Franks to just get over the line, hopefully it doesnt rain should be a cracker of a contest

Whittlesea v Hurstbridge - Whittlesea to win

Good idea. We could hold it at the Frank's, enjoy the pristine Sycamore ground and utilise the shipping container clubrooms!

we played them earlier and there attack my not be quick but very disciplined, line and length, worked hard on executing bowliing plans, interesting now with a couple of new bowlers...still might struggle to make 250 regularly, good blokes.

Silly Mid, we havent played Morang yet, how do they go? I know the bats are quite good, not damaging but would be the most disciplined attack ive faced. Morang the same?? Or more wayward but fiery?

Yeah good blokes I agree. I reckon the teams with the more disciplined attacks (ie. Yarrambat & Morang) will fare better than the wayward, quicker attacks (ie. Mill Park) Mill Park are pretty fiery at Findon (we played them there) with Morrissey and Murcott but not as line and length disciplined as others.

Re: DVCA Money Shield

I would like to get everyones thoughts so far on who would be playing in the Money Shield rep team at the moment. my team would be (in batting order):

1. A.Mann
2. J.Berthet
3. L.Kennell
4. T.Hand
5. C.Zealley
6. B.Lewis
7. M.George
8. R.McKeown (WK)
9. S.Bray
10. A.Caithness
11. C.Paine

Others that could slot in would be W.Wunhym, G.Duggin, L.Stewart, B.Gutterson.

Thoughts??

Id say Morang have a pretty disciplined attack aswell.....and have the capabilities to be a tad fiery with the likes of...Peters, Mcdonald and Roderick all bowling handy paces.... Mkewon has only played 2 games for them????

MP v PH - Mill Park to win this one, wont be a easy game for them. Motch and collsy the keys for the hill and thomas and stewart seem to be the keys for mill park alot this year.

SM v BATS - Bats to win this, bowling attack very good and patient Morang need lester to fire a shot, if he is up a going morang seem to lift. bats in a canter.

BU v TU - Thommo to get the points here bundy cant make another 400 thommo attack lead by Matty George (the key to thommos success) and the wayward solly should keep them under 220 and should be able to get the runs due to bundy not having a strong bowling attack, zealley and hamilton seem to be the keys for bundy.

MONT v NEW - Will be a great game whoever bats first in this game will get the points, i feel both teams have strong batting lineups. wuynum and hand are the keys for mont and al mann and smith the key for NEW. I feel whoever bats 2nd will be chasing 280+.

EC v SF - Match of the Round will be a great game of cricket, College to get the points. Wallace, Kennell and the Stricklands the keys to college posting a good score for the franks duggin, lewis and berthet are the keys. home ground advantage to be a positive with the franks not used to playing on big grounds.

WH v HB - Whit to win this just bridges to put up a good fight and fall just short, but if jimmy atkins is fit and plays bridges will get the points.

smith is a sickooooooooo and j.young is very overrated should be playin 2's

Your right specialist should be a good chase next week. We were dissapointed considering 5 of us made between 15 and 23 (starts) But I would say par score on that ground today, was extremely big and slow so next week should be a cracker!!

that team is pretty handy having a look at the player's that you could'nt fit in, Gutto for Bray, Duggin for Lewis.

did you get many in the big game concussion, and how did the boy's from the franks behave?

Nah not really one shot, I was one of the blokes that made 15-25 and went out to to Brett Lewis. The franks boys I'd have to say were the most professional team ive played this year before the game and were very focused. No real sledging which I was a bit surprised.

But will be a real good game of cricket next week.

I heard that College totally embarrassed themselves in the top of the table clash. Bored their toothless spectators to sleep with the bat and then carried on a treat when they got a wicket at the end of the day. Start praying for rain now because it's going to be a long day in the field next week.

College didnt embarrass themselves, franks bowled very good lines all day and the cones were out a fair way.

160 on the college is 220 - 250 on any other ground in the comp.

Game was played in fairly good spirits and it was good that about 7 of the franks blokes stayed back after the game and had a few beers

Didnt carry on when got wicket we were very happy to get a wicket in the last over of the day champ.

Were you at the game teapicker? How did you know what happened when the college got the wicket?:confused:

Fair to say nudie I reckon it was in between very happy and carried on a treat, there were a lot of excited blokes! (Not to mention the bloke who bowled it!!) ;) And yeah your right it was great to see the franks guys stick around smack a few jars and talk rubbish!! Thats what makes good cricket.

Does anyone involved in the game wish to comment on the performance of one James Flynn?? Would have to say didnt shape up to the hype placed on him during the off season, is a tall bloke so could see him getting wickets on the all weathers.

what happened picker to all the talk of US the college, the college into barclay, you winning the medal, have you had a better offer from another club? as i have said all along, your a little on the tubby side, wear long white socks with sandles, live at home with your mum, 40 years old and play golf , as you would'nt have the upper body strength to play cricket.

like nudie, curious know how you knew about the college reaction to the wicket, all that does is lead us to thinking your a frank, but not even with a team that has that highly intelligent Wegs bloke in it, would be stupid enough to write that rubbish.

You sound like the kind of bloke who couldnt get a (whistle, whistle) even if you tried and you clearly have nothing better to do then go around and watch some strapping young men at the Franks and the college run around in tight white pants. You were probally on the hill with a little buby chubby going and a bit of a dribble. I think we will all find out who you are just by looking for a guy in a trenchcoat and realy hairy palms.
