26 all out. The DS Bull Oval sure is tough to score runs on. Anyone who scored 500 runs in a season for North Balwyn should be lauded. Or Lorded.

yeah i've heard the deck is a bit 2 paced...ground is really big too. who scored 500 there?? no one at NB recently I reckon...maybe Fernando???

it's true though, always easier scoring runs down at Deepy then NB.

On the other side, 50 wickets on that deck doesn't seem that many in A Turf.

Fernando is a good guess but it's not right.

How many runs did you get last year Sachin?

would think there will be a lot of runs scored this year against NB if Howell is there spearhead bowler. short bowling and trash talking can only get that kid so far....

I did my bit for the team with bat and ball. Didn't get 500...but then again we weren't getting 2 hits every 2nd week either.

Some weeks I didn't even get a hit...

I'm not going to give my stats away so you can work out who I am. And no my name is not Sachin. Im just a big Sachin Tendulkar fan.

Anyway, enough for one night ladies and gents, have to go work on my pulling abilities....For when I face the heat from Howell!

Sachin you're all talk. I know for a fact that it would be impossible for you to score any runs off Julian Cohen. Have seen him get you out before.

Haha North Balwyn are building a dunstan premiership side around those names?
Binney is the only good player in that list. The likes of gairns, smith and cooper shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as binney. Those blokes are c turf cricketers at best. Pre season form means nothing, you can all talk up North Balwyn about how they will push for the premiership, but it's all about what happens in the middle and they were pathetic last season. Hopefully you can still talk your club up when you are in the bottom 2 at December. But all I can say is good luck North Balwyn.

I guess time will tell how North Balwyn go.

Certainly alot of pressure put on some young heads.

"North Balwyn will be Premiers just you wait and see?"

Which is why i'll stop the trash talking, TT. let performances speak for themselves (really crossing my fingers things go well).
Thats a very solid performance from parsons, i was doing some digging and saw 730 runs and 34 wickets next to his name in 08/09.
Hows the form looking this year?

Have to say that puttin pressure on yourself isnt a bad thing, can only make strive harder to do well and as we all know cricket is largely played in the mind so if this gives these kids the drive and focus they need to do well then good on them.

Some of the best sportsman of all time loved putting pressure on themselves to perform and some failed and some succeeded, its what makes sport so special, you can say what you like before hand but it really counts for nothing once you get on the pitch its just you vs the opposition.Those who let the mental stuff take over will look like fools in the end, so lets just wait and see what happens before we judge...

Parsons is a really good player. I watched him bat really well against Ashburton last summer when we had a Sunday game. Played spin excellently.

My advice to young Cricketers is score more runs than the other team and you usually do alright!
