Parsons is a really good player. I watched him bat really well against Ashburton last summer when we had a Sunday game. Played spin excellently.

My advice to young Cricketers is score more runs than the other team and you usually do alright!

I would give that advice to all cricketers TT tbh...

On a lighter note, Robert Parkinson has returned to North Balwyn for another season and is looking to improve upon his record as 2nd XI captain. C-Turf will hopefully bring better days for the great man.

Have to agree, C turf seems to be his place, believe he was a premiership captain in that grade 2 yrs ago after diggin around the stats. Seems the same players north balwyn are talkin about as ther young 'guns' this season in dunstan wer part of this team also. Cooper, Oneil, Howell and Smith were all part of this team. So mayb these boys have been around longer than we thought...

foolish comment and havent heard about north balwyns 1s captain this year, after the departure of gleeson last season... think it is still in the balance. would have to assume it would be cope or mayb binney has done his apprenticeship and will be given the reigns after his 2 solid season captianing the 20/20 teams???

anyone heard news on this front??

Seems slightly strange that you guys don't know who is captaining the side.

Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

HUGE changes out Mulgrave for this season... also changes at Canterbury, East Doncaster, Ashwood, Burwood and Mont Albert...

As for who will win Dunstan - battle between Bulleen, Mont Albert and St Kevins...

A Turf - Surrey Hills, Mazenod (only if their pom comes back) and Burwood

Ony doubt I have over Burwood is that I have heard Andrew Male has been training with Prahran with a spot in their 1's a huge possibility!

Do you have any real information Ugly Sister? Or all just hearsay?

Male at Prahran? Yeah I heard that they were really impressed by the way he sat on the side last summer eating McDonalds and drinking Pure Blonde so they went and head hunted him.

Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

Mulgrave - Bradley, both Days, Flintoff, Spider gone
Canterbury - Spolarjic gone
Ashwood - Wilson gone (no real loss) Wilkinson is the new captain/coach
East Donny - Naygayer (or however you spell it) has gone to Fitz Donny

As for the Andrew Male rumour - personally I wouldn't have thought anyone would be interested in him. Don't know what he did last year... wasn't playing at Burwood

Male had a bad back last year. Rumour had it that it was caused by carrying Burwood in 2008/9.

Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

And as for the comment about Deepdene's captain being a good bloke - very questionable that...

I guess you can't get on with everyone. And if you did as an opposition captain, you're probably doing something wrong!

Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

i immediatley regret the decision of leaving this thread for just 2 days now, one hour 15 pages later i am up to speed.

i thought this thread was dead but good to see it up and running, and great reading, especially the confidence of a NB team.

TT i ahve heard loves a good bake in the sun face down also, not interested in watching top class cricket at donvale reserve!

From looking at the excellent Ashburton Willows website it does appear that Swifty is training.

Sources tell me that Paul Byrne isn't returning. However, they won't miss a grumpy pom who doesn't turn it.
