What would you expect Marcellin to do? Didnt leave us enough overs to chase the total, along with the good chance of rain to stop play, why risk with a young group on the park the potential to get knocked over especially by a side with seasoned dunstan bowlers?

Left Marcelin with 50 overs(MAX) to make 240, along with the fact that there was difficult light, bad captaincy has cost you blokes today, maybe all the coin being thrown around down there is going to waste.
Look at the round one side and youll see three changes, those three being our two openers and number 4.
Came into the game with 3 deubtants. Have a crack at our young side when you develop some of your own talent instead of trying to buy flags.
Dont talk about bad form when your skipper comes back on while cars with headlights on were driving down bulleen road and starts bouncing blokes. And how about the petulance in trying to put the covers on when the umpires took us off with 20 minutes to go with only 4 wickets down.
Also, the umpires thought you were hopeless, congratulated us on batting the day out in tough conditions and referred to your behaviour on the field as childish and deplorable.
Grow up muppet, realise your team is on the slide and deal with it.

ps bulleen, speaking of chasing...howd last years dunstan final go?

We bowled 52 overs at you, so how do you get 50 ???? If it hadnt of rained we would of bowled 60 !!!!!!

The pitch was a road !!!!! so dont make out as if you were hard done by.

By the way...... Yes we started bowling bouncers at you towards the end of play..... We had pitched it up all day
and given you plenty of chances to hit the ball but your batters just kept blocking or leaving it. So why not try bouncing instead...... It still is a part of the game.

Ohhhhh you had guys away...... Big deal, so did we buddy, Judd, Porter and Roberts but thats cricket and you rely on the depth of the club...... Maybe you dont have much behind your 11.

We had 4 guys under 18, 2 under 26 ...... so who cares about age, 3 of them had never played Dunstan before.

And get your facts right...... Noone is paid at Bulleen, it actually makes me laugh when people assume we're paying 1/2 our team. Did it ever occur to you that Spud, Judd, Tuckett, Porter and Tsonis all played together back in the day, and all have young families and just want to play some cricket together. I bet you wouldnt cry if they were in your own team.

Dunstan GF last year....... At least we had a go and showed some ticker ! We didnt go out there and block from ball 1 for the whole entire game.

Big call about Bulleen on the slide........ Lets see who finishes higher on the ladder at the end of the season dopey !

Bouncer, be careful. You're not doing yourself any favours here. To take this bullshit off the ground and put it on a forum is, frankly, pathetic. To pick on a young side for playing a way to get 3 points is also not on. I play for one of the leading teams and the one thing you don't do is have a crack at inexperienced sides.

Having said that, Boomer, shut the ******** up.

Well young pups, going by the numbers above you had plenty of time. If you had of at least had a crack at the total with your top 4 batters and then shut up shop we would of respected that, but to go out there and play negative cricket - No respect.
You might have taken away 3 points from this game but it's a long season of 2 day cricket a head and you will learn
that 6 points not 3 go a long way.
I might sound a bit sour, but todays cricket from Marcellin was SHITE ! Grow some gonads or go back to A grade.

Hey Bouncer, if anyone said to Marcellin at the start of the year that u will get 3 points against the R/Up in Dunstan 10/11, I'm tipping they would take the 3p every day of the year. Given the dodgy weather today, it was in Marcellins interest to bat the day out and get 3 points up on other teams that lost today. Well done to the students!!

You had 50 overs to bowl over a young and inexperienced side today and only got 4 wickets. You should be more concerned with this fact than the oppositions ability to be disciplined and show some heart.

Great to see Boronia have their first win back in Dunstan. Season 11/12 is as open a season I have seen in a while. Love it.

Sorry bouncer I am with the other lads. When there is rain about it is up to the bowling team to dismiss the opposition. (Like Mulgrave did to us - but that is another story) Whining about them not handing you points on a platter is indeed pathetic.

XXXX - Why do people keep talking about the weather ? We started 10 mins late on a ROAD of a pitch. It didnt rain again until 5;40pm ??????

You dont go out and play for a draw from ball 1, thats shite, negative, boring cricket.

You dont teach kids to go out and play negative cricket or maybe times have changed but I play to win not a draw. I would rather lose having a crack at 240 runs then draw.

They could of won today......... But they will never know.

If teams want to play this style of cricket then go and play LOC.

On page 13, 14 everyone was talking about playing exciting, aggressive cricket this weekend....... What did Marcellin do ?

Let it go, for Christ's sake. Like Terry said, you took 4 wickets in 52 overs - you won't win too many games with that strike rate. The least of your concerns should be the opposition.

Terry...... I'm not whining, I play cricket because i enjoy the game and have played the game since i was 7 years old but to see young guys playing that type of cricket today from the first ball, was just not right.

Did your team put up a fight today against Mulgrave ? or did you try for a draw ?

I bet your team went out there today to win !!!!

Yeah, the boys were really pumped-up this week after giving themselves a chance by putting on a reasonable total from last week ! They were quietly confident that they could bowl East Donnie out once we got through their top two or three bats!
Last years premiership player Steve Bowen had a day at the office today taking 5 / 30 off 20 overs.
The good thing was that at the break, they were 2 fa 102 and the boys worked really hard in the field to take the next 8 wickets for 26 runs to win the match ! It's only Round 2 we know, but, the place is buzzing at the minute and the boys won't be too cocky just yet as the test for us is yet to come over the next few weeks!
We are a fairly young side and we will play to win whenever possible !

A bit tough on Bulleen guys, you all need to realize that old people get cranky.

Well done to a young Marcellin combination who ground out a draw and spent some valuable time out in the middle which will benefit them down the track. No point in going down like skittles chasing a big total with reduced overs and in difficult conditions just because the other team thinks you should.
 
Thankyou to the skippers for calling the game off early yeaterday. Easiest coin I ever earnt. The fact that I went and took the covers off the wicket at 6am and let the pitch get a good old drenching is beside the point.

Say, has anyone heard that former North Balwyn star David Kerr won first division Tattslotto back in June and has refused to give his club a single cent? Being a former North Balwyn player myself, I found it rather distasteful, and a extremely tight. Kerr was always a good clubman, so there must have been a falling out of sorts. I know that if I won millions, I'd be putting at least 10% back into the club.

Fair enough Bouncer. You point has been made. You will never be able to control the opposition though. You are wasting your energy worrying about them. They wanted 3 points and they got them. We went for the win and got nothing. In hindsight I wish we had done what Marcellin did.
