It would be good, and the synthetic comps do this I think, why doesn't turf?
 
Would be great to do this from Turf and Synthetic and then play off...on turf.

How does the Synthetic all star game work?
 
ECA synthetic don't play against each other, they play against another comp, think it's BHRDCA, one team from Macgibbon Shield clubs, another team from Burt Shield clubs with the occaisonal exception (the Flat Track Bully himself, Stonehouse, played once, ducked up from memory)... What about an All Star game ECA vs Premier club like Camberwell?

It would be good, and could be a good fund raiser for the home club, but with the amount of cricket being played by premier clubs and even our clubs, there isn't much room for that. I don't think you would genuinely get the best team either. Some of the best players in Dunstan just do what they need to do and are happy at that. Can't imagine many would go over and above to play in a game like this.
 
Reckon they tried to get something going a few years ago and MadMax is right, there wasn't a lot of commitment from those who were selected. It's pretty hard with people's commitements these days to get them to play on a Sunday as well for "honour". I'd play if selected, but there's no chance of that!

There was an ECA All stars game played a few years back against Ringwood at Donvale. It was for charity though, post bushfires from memory. Few ex footballers plus a mix across the ECA clubs. But let's be honest, what is the point of an all-star game in suburban cricket ? Other than for people to big note themselves on forums like this, hoping others mention their name in a proposed line up.

Clubs have their own 20/20 fixture to use for fund raising

That's unfair. I did not raise this line of conversation in the hope my name would be mentioned. I'm waaaaay to old and fat to be concerned at such things. More I thought it would be a good way to judge the strength of A vs Dunstan since that topic was raised earlier.

Boys new to the game , but will have a crack for interests sake

Surrey Hills vs Deepdene (SH too old and slow , but will the infighting at DB continue the slump ? )
Boronia vs Mont Albert (MA new pom bowler apparently is good & quick... will get job done. Boronia should save the slacks and shoes before the game for their next court appearance )
St Kevins vs Marcellin (Battle of the Hob knob Private school cup - cucumber sandwhiches anyone ? jolly good)
Hawthorn vs Glen Iris (Hawks have a balanced team , just fancy them to get the job done . Stafford still spooked by stalker in bushes. Home ground advantage to play a role.
East Doncaster vs Mulgrave (Dale to put on a bowling clinic - with the pitch prepared to suit)
Ashburton vs North Balwyn (Ashy to overcome NB's verbal diarea )

Boronia vs Mont Albert (MA looking the goods, Vance great start to the season, as well as Hargraves - not sure about Pom, conditions will suit tomorrow though, wait for summer though!)
St Kevins vs Marcellin (StK possibly outright - Fernon to ton up, possibly double ton)
Hawthorn vs Glen Iris (Hard to say, rather Hawks win, but think Armstrong will get some and get them home.)
East Doncaster vs Mulgrave (Mulgrave comfortably I would think, ED struggling - maybe different if AD plays!?)
Ashburton vs North Balwyn (Ashy too good, Cox in form.. Swift playing? heard he was injured)

MA to continue their good form
Skevies will smash Marcellin (Marcellin are not the league of hob nob Private school - roughies from the northern side of town)
GI only because Wilko is back (could ruin their momentum)
Mulgrave, just because
Ashburton should be too strong at home, but NB will give it a crack especially with their legend of a captain back - not sure about their verbal diarrhoea, always competitive but good for a joke during overs, unlike other Dunstan Clubs and one ex-Dunstan Club

What happened at Rathmines? Haw 6/30? Anyone know the story? GI a new powerhouse? Form is great. Mully a big score against ED - ED will really struggle to stay up. Perhaps Adam Dale could ask some friends from the Test Arena to come down and play. Skevs expected against Marc, Deep did well to get up to 180 against SH, but will they continue to struggle to take wickets? Ashy v NB could be a massive upset with them being 4/50 v 140. No game at Boronia? No wicket prepared I guess? Anyone know that story?

A mate said the rain last Thursday flooded the square and the curator couldn't do anything about it! He said the team and the club were pretty disappointed! Does it turn into a one dayer?

Is tonguey out for hawthorn? Is cox out for AW? Did parsons make any?

Some strange scores on the weekend. When does mycricket get updated? interested to see a few of the games. What happened at Ashy? 5 down, and Haw 6 down? anyone know the details? bundles of wickets fallen.. Why is Deepdene making only 180 a good effort against SH? should be 280 against a side at the bottom end of the ladder...
Assume A.Dale didn't play against Mulgrave?

ECA site results saying Dale bowled 25 overs and took 3/57 ..... Makes mulgraves batting look even more impressive.
I assume with some of the other results there were some nice green decks for the opening session. still doesnt explain why ashy and hawthorn collapsed late in day

Must be a green deck at AW, they also put on 30 for the last wicket, that may come back to bite them. Will be interested to know who is out down there. I'm backing NB from here.

6/30 at hawthorn is a debacle, looks like the inclusion of the new coach didn't help them at all. GI to win outright

DB must be struggling if they can only make 180 against SH. DB will still win with their bowling attack

yeah must agree, looks like some wickets were ill prepared. It seems a few sides are going along very nicely. Does anyone know if Tongue played against GI's and has Parsons made any runs this year.
