Late mail is the Grovedale Kiwi's a gun! Any news out of Div 2 contenders, as the Tommy Tigers are up and about! Also herd a whisper at the indoor centre the Highton international player played in the last U19 World Cup!
He'd want to be for the money he was asking. I wondered who'd agree to pay (Grovedale would have been on the short list).
I heard a vca club offered in excess of 15k. Also bph Lara and stj offered over 8k..

yer definite gun.. looked him up on espncricinfo.com.. hes made hundreds against some quality nz bowlers... batted alongside matt sinclair quite a bit..
Anyway anybody heard anything about Lara???
Lara have picked up a keeper-batsman from Ballarat - Les Sandwith. Made over 300 runs last year in ballarat and the Yates connection has lured him to Lara. Have only lost the Sri Lankan import from thier best XI.
Sean Arnott to coach the club and captain the 2nds.
Whats happens there... Perhaps you would be more interested in grade 2.Barry has ruined that club? last 3 club championships 2 1st premierships, 2nds 3rds and fifths flag. Young guys must hate winning!!

It terrible to have a club that is successful and that people come to off their own back wanting to play for.
I agree.. The kiwi should never have accepted a job in Geelong forcing him to have to play cricket here, or at least should do the right thing and commute back to NZ each week to play cricket...
They'll only have kids to play this year at the rate they're going. season hasn't even started yet n the coach is telling players hes just signed on to piss off. Not to mention that a few of their decent players are walking cos of him. Gonna be fun watching the fall

Numbers been great at LR this year with 8 in and only one out with one of our 14 year old kids going to play division 1.
Things going well at the River, even if you are holding onto your hope to see them fail!

St Albans will be the big losers- Falling from grace with a bang. Up to 6 players from last years GF side are not playing including Cox(another club may be on the cards? Anyone heard) picked up none.
Thomson will be the team to beat with Manifold & the Dino's. Murgheboluc might take the next step with their kids.
Regardless of the numbers you're still paying them to play which is laughable. Your 14 y/o playing Div 1 has nothing to do with Little River, the kid is just talented & knows there's no point hanging around.
Hearing one of your 1s batsmen has left this week, what's the truth in that? Waiting on a name but sources say he was one of your best.

What possible evidence could there be that Mano will be as good as 2nd place in Div 2? Div 1 sides dropping down don't automatically become powerhouses, just ask the Torquays, Newcombs and Thomsons of the world. There's still a lot of hard work to be done, particularly when they will probably lose their best bowler to Geelong CC. The rest of your table is close. However, there is no way known St Albans will finish outside top 6, Waurn Ponds won't finish that high and St Peters will improve as believe they have picked up a few.
