harps hasnt been on 4 a while, so ill tell ya. mcdonald gentle medium that changes his pace well, also made 53 not out, has a good technique for a numebr 10 bat... peterson looks to be a real good bat, threw his wicket away against us last week. bit of a whippet in the field to very quick and clean hands..

What happened in the St Peters 2nd inns there Renny? was the wicket a bit dodgey?

I only rolled up after the game was about to finish. Believe BP were 9 down for some time and the Saints just couldn't crack the last one. Hugely confident LBW appeal in the last over off Clay Nelson but obviously turned down. To answer your question, I think that the wicket was probably not the best it could have been but if you look at the scores, no doubt played the same each day with St Peters only making 130 in the 1st inns. Few young blokes in the 1sts at the moment with 4 missing form the semi-final side from last year. That also wouldn't have helped.

well me n braden made 45 between us out of the 136 on saturday but anyway.

young is the pom opening bowler it was his first game on saturday. left armer not that quick but did a fair bit with it. will be very handy back up for harps this year. he was definitely there best performed bowler on saturday but the only one not to get a wicket

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

just looked at north geelongs line up, they will struggle this year for sure, got some average players in there at present. Kurt took some major stick, very average gentle lefty, jaca playing ones disgrace. when do they play the Dinos, could be good game.

Tend to agree on both counts. However, i would think that the boys would be happy to take a win after being bowled out for 47.....could have been a lot worse.

peterson is a pom as well i think but i duno where mcdonald is from. maybe a twos player from last year. no ford comes off a step and a half lol, young has a good size run up and angles across then moves both ways... good bowler.

If it's Travis McDonald he coached Guild about 3/4 seasons ago. Bowls slow swingers. Was pretty effective in Div2 but I couldn't see him being much of a threat in the top comp, bowling wise.

jaca playing ones is not a disgrace, our keeper couldnt pay so hes the 2s keeper and hes made runs so y not put him up. they took to kurt, he can bowl well. fyi we play newcomb at some stage before christmas.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

I've just been thinking what are the lower scores by sides people can remember in 1sts/A cricket?

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

if ya havent heard from benny the jet for a while, im tipping he wont be far away. 7 for 56 off 19 overs. bloody good bowling that in any comp.

we can all bowl well, at some stage. but if ya dont do it good enough all the time ya shouldnt play 1sts in Div 1, and he cant. wouldnt get a game at many other clubs. As for jaca, great bloke and fair enough if thats the case.

Is it the T McDonald that played 1sts for Guild-St Marys a couple of seasons ago? Just a guess. Travis I think.

Pretty much spot on. Peterson is an Aussie but been in uk for six months. Living in area and wanted somewhere to play cricket. Young is the overseas player. Played at same club as Wainwright (Grovedale), Sacks (South Barwon) and Bourke (Torquay). All play in the same league as Batty (Torquay), Broadbent (City/Geelong) and Ellis (Torquay)

McDonald is the same guy that played at Guild. Ants right about changing his pace. Made him hit it straight in the air after pulling me for 3 consecutive fours,a few overs before.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

chris bambburys batting average is currently 264 after 3 rounds. hmmm, watch this space, could be a new GCA run machine so im told. very good bat.

Great chase by the Cheetahs yesterday just came up a bit short. but I think we weren't that far away St Albans couldn't probe through our strong batting line up and we batted for 71 overs which proves that we will be there abouts come finals time.

Well done to St Albans but after what we saw over the last two weeks we won't fear them whatsoever if we happen to meet come finals in fact I hope we do!

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, funniest post on here.
what a loser u must be. a great chase would have been 350 or even 300.

i watched 15 overs of stalbans batting, and it was embarrassing just watching.
