i was just asking a simple question to these blokes..
as to who would they would rather have coach them between 2 of the youngest coaches in the gca..
about the arrogant bit.. ur rite i dont no ya's..
And as for ur chances this year.. youse seem to have done the hard yards in recruiting over the pre season and good lukk to yas

quite the opposite of arrogant, loves his cricket on the field and one of the better blokes going around of it.
so Hard Wicket Roller if you don't know about it, don't comment.
Know for a fact that the president is very pleased with the work O'Neil and Saltamacchia are doing, especially with the juniors. They are obviously headed in the right direction.

who you associated with Hard Wicket Roller?

I read a few pages back someone thought Wallington might surprise in the BPCA. Who else have they picked up besides Biemans that will make a massive difference to the side that struggled last year?

Also, how are people rating Newcomb, new coach but have lost a few of their experienced players including the before mentioned Biemans. How will this affect them? I think it might benefit some of the young stars at the club like Greenwood who plays B's for most of last year

wallington will be shite like every other year, biemens aint going to make a difference who else have they got? boring old blocker cameron?

is conan roos at barwon heads this year?

and is the bpca going to have a t20 tournament this season?

it would be good if the GCA and BPCA worked together and tried to get all the leagues involved in a 20/20 tournament.
Maybe a knockout event, where the leagues are seeded.
Divvy 1 clubs get a bye first round or something like that.
I'm suer the div3clubs and BPCA would love to be involved.

Could easily be done during the warmer months of jan/feb.
6 o'clock starts, be finished 9.
Thoughts on the idea guys?
:D

yeah they sure have got alot of young talent, like i've said in previous posts herbission should be batting in the top 4 in a GCA div1 club, not sure if any clubs chased him, mad if they didn't.

both south barwon and thomson expressed an interest in him.

i do agree with welsford being overrated always has been i recken.
murray would be the best alrounder in geelong almost top 3 or 4 at least

Murray certainly amongst the best allrounders in Geelong. Probably would have a list look like this; 1 Hauenstein; 2 Hughes; 3 Stacey; 4 Talarico 5 Murray.

Div 2 (for what it's worth); 1 Benci; 2 Illingworth; 3 Saltalamacchia.

Murray actually has really only come of age as an allrounder over the past couple of seasons. Prior to his last stint at AT, he was probably only a good lower order bat.

WHO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER TO ANY ONE TEAM IN GEELONG?

This doesn't have to be the best player, just the most important to there team.....

i would have to say brad haurnstein he's done the bulk of the run scoring for many years at south barwon, if he gets a score they win 9/10 times.

feel free to suggest others.

Too bad Welsford doesn't have anywhere near the talent his brother does.

legacy indeed. legacy of endless stream of kids leaving the game cos they don't get a go while skipper (and so called leader) grant bats for his average (zzzzzzzzz.....), does a sensational Captain Araldite impersonation and keeps as well (like he wasn't hogging the game enough). even worse is he doesn't even bother to try to win the game, it's just all about him. great example to the kids

i second that, i generally dont like to bag people too much but those older blokes in the city teams need to give it away.
and sharkbite..... thank god you finally got the hint.

yeah that is true, i think it was when he injured his shoulder and couldn't bowl at AT so worked on he's batting and made a mountain of runs.

There is a guy Loftus that goes alright. And now Morgan. Yelland would be up there. Also return of Bourke from UK as well.
Stacey does not bowl enough any more to be in the top few.

Without doubt Brad Hauenstein. However, as far as a big game player goes, it begins and ends with Gary Kelson. Won two premierships for Grovedale himself.

yeah but i think the best allrounders need to take as many wickets as they make runs. dunno if loftus does that or bourke, both class bats though:)

not really saying anything about youse as blokes...
just from a coaching point of view..
i was putting it out there as to who would make a better leader...
you proved urself last year by getting into the semi's
and north shore dont have the talent that thomson does..
but why should that automatically make u a better coach

now ive played with both of these blokes a fair bit, but im more close to sean because im from the same club!! sean is a great coach and does heaps to improve and help every single player!! at 20 years of age he will be a great coach for years to come an id love him to coach me in my team for sure!! Im not quite sure on how mitch troy will go coaching..... time will only tell!!

BPCA
underrated: Rock (collendina)
overrated: chris welsford ( barwon heads)
best bat : mitch herbission (barwon heads)
best bowler: sam schaller (barwon heads)
best allrounder: gota say jason murray (st albans) not being bias he just is!

I wouldnt say Welsford is ovverated, first year on hard wicket for a while last year and gave his all in each contest, couldnt ask for more really. And no, you are not being biased, Jason is probably the best all rounder going round in the Bellarine at the moment.

All's good! It is a nice peaceful informative board now with that ******** gone. It was worth. Plus, you know me, I'm not little, I'm not stumpy and I have never fielded at fine leg in my life!!! So the so called home truths didn't really make it's mark.

the final on a thursday or a sunday evening, id imagine a massive crowd would be present to see that!

yeah that seems suprising they would need to pick up a good 1/2 dozen players i would of thought, struggled on the bottom for many years now.

i would think newcomb would struggle also with the loss of biemens, cammorotto, williams, evans and more i heard something like 10 or so of there top 15 players from last year.

the new coach ebourn might bring a few from corio bay don't know much about them though.
