Without Ty Watts, BPH woudnt be very far. Arguably the best player ive seen in the last 10 years. Very aggressive and gets his two bob worth when fielding.

Oh you mean the BIG FISH in a little pond guy?!
The id rather dominate 2's and be a knob than be tested in 1's, "team of good blokes" club champion for the 02/03 - 06/07 season guy??

Best player of the last 10 years? Hahaha thats as funny as seeing your mate shark bite back on here!:D

very interesting BBW. i have a few queeries myself about this. just some observations that's all :D not having a go at you, just some questions i'd like answered in relation to ladder positioning.

1. You tipped North Shore to finish 7th, just outside the finals, above Thomson, Murghebuloc and Alexander Thomson. Is this on the basis of the appointment of Mitch Troy as coach?with the possibility of some North players, they did finish well down the ladder last season.
2. With the prospect of Fergie staying at Modda and Rick O'Toole not playing much due to work commitments will Corio drop down on your "prospective ladder" or do they have the depth to cover?
3. Interested as to why you have someone like Alexander Thomson so low considering they have both Cox and Benci still in there squad, both of whom won league awards last season.
4. Also a little dissapointed you have Thomson so low on your ladder considering we beat Corio quite convincingly last season in the Quarter Finals, and Highton in the latter stages of the year.
5. Have St Peters recruited anyone of note because they didn't make it past the Semi's last season and Charlie Lamb is a year older who also suffered achilles injuries at times last season.

Not having a dig at you at all, just would like to know your reasoning behind some of your selections, cheers :)

1. i think north will be a big improver, troy and mclean shouldn't be underestimated and also with bowling of mathews and nolan. will be ok in my opinion.
2. my prediction on corio was purely on furgie being there id think he would be a big differance to the team that finished top last year and make them hard to beat.
3. AT besides them two players they got knowone as proved last year with them not playing finals.
4.i don't think thomson will be standouts this season, although if bosworth played a full year i would be happy to move thomson up.
5. well that might meen lamb might be fit for this season which would make them better, if a team has a bad day in finals i dont think thats how we should judge there whole season on that game, or we would be judging thomson on that semi final loss to guild.

thats just my opinion on this season, i may very well be a mile off the mark time will tell.

Dear Mr Bringbackwarney,

Well it doesn't bother me about your opinions, after all no-one really knows who your are but your entitled to an opinion. All i need to say is the TCC committee are very happy with myself and salts as we have been re-appointed to coach together again this coming season :D i have had one season as a head coach and we made the semi-finals.

I have only played 2 full seasons of cricket since juniors, i missed the 06/07 season due to a broken foot. I've been a regular in the 1sts at Thomson since i was 13 but the first 3-4 years i was batting 10-11 everyweek, i used to bowl some handy leggies. Since i have progressed from u17s to playing just senior cricket i have developed my batting and am now in the top 6.

Technically i wouldn't average above 20, i doubt many people my age who have played as much 1st XI cricket as me would to be honest, but in the 2 full years i have been in the top half of the batting order my average would be somewhere in the 25.00 region. I made around 350 runs last season as a 19 year old.

As for never seeing me score a run. You should come to some more Thomson games, for someone who follows the local cricket so dilligently i thought you might have been at either of our finals last season, i did manage to prod around a couple of 40s.

Feel free to let me know if you plan on coming to watch us, then again if you did happen to venture down to Godfrey St this summer to watch us play i wouldn't know if you were there as no-one know's who you are.

OK thats fair enough, but as head coach i think you should be judged on that, not as a 19 year old, it's your club that made this choice which is great if it works out, but if it doesn't and next year they decide on someone else it looks bad and won't make you overly impressed i'd imagine.

no offence on this post i hope you succeed, i like to see young blokes have a go and come out better people/players.

but averaging 25 in past 2 years is hardly coaching material i would think, i would say you should be the one being coached to help improve your game to make you a better player, and i'd imagine the young blokes at the club would find it hard to learn from someone the same age or younger.

al the same i hope you have a big year and succeed.
all the best@|

as a 21 year old that plays at thomson, sean is a great coach!! i have learnt a whole lot of sean last season. thomson has put a whole lot of trust and pressure on a 19 year old to take on a job like he has and i know for a fact that they are more than happy with what he has done on the field and off the feild last season!! going off last season, sean will only improve and make himself and his team stronger this season!! ;)

Thats great, but i'm just doubting what he may of taught you, i meen as a 19 year old, there isn't alot of experience there.
like i said though good luck to him and tcc.@|
just hope it doesn't fail because it may turn ugly with tcc losing a quality player and clubman.
i've seen it happen to clubs over the years

I think you will find that BBW is in fact former Australian coach John Buchanan. As you can tell from his comments, he is the leading guru on cricket in Australia and will soon replace ICC chief-executive Haroon Lorgat as the new governing body of international cricket. BBW is currently 'cutting his teeth' in this forum to prepare him for the challenges that lay ahead. As such a senior figure in cricket, it is his right to have an opinion on everything that is cricket. The logic used for the O'Niell coaching move is suprising considering Buchanan never played cricket for Australia but was considered by many as the reason behind Australia's success earlier this decade.

With all his opinions, I am now starting to question whether he is in fact Germaine Greer - another well respected & well liked person - not.

Stop being a tosser BBW. And while your at it, why don't you say who you are and your credentials

BANG!!! Another side splitter from the comedian 'DickieBird'.
This bloke gets worse with every post.
Maybe you should follow the actual Dickie Bird into retirement??

As for the appointment of O'Neill as Thomson coach. He has had a few solid years of 1's cricket and is obviously well respected within the club which is the main thing. He has an experienced player in Salts with him and I think the club should be congratulated for choosing someone that could potentially do the job for 5-10 years instead of getting a bloke in who will do it for a year or 2 and then leave.

Modda must have a bit of coin floating around if they can afford Fergie and Caulfield for another year!!
