ok, which clubs think that we should be having some kind of T20 competition this season. Pretty much it would be held at the 1st XI level (sorry The Butcher, not to down grade the other grades !) and maybe at a knockout comp level. Not sure if Cricket Victoria are having the T20 statewide comp again, but the winner would progress to that stage, or the top two ?? Anyway, it is time we get fair dinkum about this and discuss how it can move forward in a professional manner. I reckon Smokin Joe will have some good ideas in this area.@|

it's more difficult to organise than you think. The VCA had a bit of difficulty, and initially, clubs weren't that keen, but you look at the competition now, and it's flying. My belief would be to invite all clubs with a cut off date, then regionalise into groups of 3/4 dependant on how many clubs confirm. Hopefully it's easy enough to get into 4 groups, and the winner of each plays in a sunday finals day! Too easy. That ok Mr IPL?

Is that what your backyard looks like from endless afternoons of bowling to yourself then fielding it yourself cos no one else will play with you?
Thanks to all the other posters who realise that its not just div 1 and 2 turf cricketers who play in and around geelong and who care about what goes on, keep up the good work.@|

I however disagree when you say it would be hard to organise, i think it would be quite easy.

I didn't say difficult, just harder than you imagine. Politics are difficult things to plough through Mr Rissole, and there is plenty of it in the GCA....

OK so we've done the best: Now for the worst

1. Worst ground for batting on?
2. Worst ground for bowling on?
3. Worst ground for fielding on?

once again, everyone get involved :D haha

I play hard wicket so i will add the following:

1. torquay primary - pitch is bizarre. made of some sort of rubber, like a f*&^ing sponge. sometimes pops and sometimes doesn't
2. north geelong - lost a ball or two every time i have played there. both onto the highway and into the trees on the other side
3. as above, north geelong. disturbing that i could possibly play there twice this season! or even 3 times if we make finals!

btw sharkbite, another pearler from you re concrete cricketers....eff off. we have just as much passion for the game

gee, i went away for 3 days and there's 50 more pages up here! think we really need a better system as suggested....c'mon mr administrator, help us out :D

Well we could always give the GCA the flick and have a rebel 20/20 league?

Maybe some-one should join up as GCA-ICL ;)

ok ok ok i have finally read through the 200 or so pages of garbage and have come to this conclusion:

Bringbackwarney and Sharkbite and to a lesser extent Dickiebird are very stupid!
Knowa, Smoking Joe hillarious.
Clearing pickets and Shanebourneorwarne have an opinion on everything!

Also how stupid are you guys not knowing who bringbackwarney is - have you actually read the stuff his posted?

BBW has agreed alot with Shanebourneorwarne, not by conincedence.
The majority of all the posts are done at the same time - Eg: SBW and BBW are online at the same time.
BBW on the first page lets everyone know how sh*t cammarotto is from marshall.
BBW is the first to tell the forum about how good Jock Irvine has done with getting the turf wicket and lets everyone know that the TAFE kids are gonna prepar it.
BBW is the first to ask about Benci coming to St Albans, the same as S.Farnsworth.
The first few pages from BBW are BPCA related: eg Bartel to Collendina.
Knows all the clubs Brett Anderton has played for including the name of the ACT club and reasons why he was "booted" out.
Has a vendetta against Thomson: think you'll find if you search deeper Addy had his issues when he got "booted" out of Thomson
BBW actually himself asks the forum about a possible move to drysdale for addy!
St albans again when he speaks about Braniff
tells the forum about marslands ambition to play at St Albans same as SBW

but the most important thing noted is:

the thread was talked about in bigfooty, someone by the name of jaya001 said there is a GCA/BPCA forum - Jaya001 (sounds alot like Jay Addy to me)

so ladies and gentleman i will be a one-post wonder but take a deeper look and you'll find out what i'm talking about.

Bringbackwarney and ShaneBourneorWarne are the same person!!

BYe ;)

HAHA now after waking up with a bit of a hang over, i read this? i fine this extremely funny.
* why would i come on here and bag out my MATES?

Who'd be the first keeper picked?

Anderson from NDCC, fairly aggressive batsman would be one of the top t20 keeper batsman.

That's the one i was thinking about aswell. Is he a better keeper then O'Leary from St Albans?
How would Quick go in the field?

Ando for 2 overs of fire and anger at the start, and 2 or tripe at the end!
Breuer as my keeper to come in at 3 and smash his decade average of 12 off 4 balls...

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

I would definitely have Salts in my team, bowls handy offies and can smash it a mile, good in the field also. I'm bias because i play with him every week but he would be great in 20/20!
