That's the one i was thinking about aswell. Is he a better keeper then O'Leary from St Albans?
How would Quick go in the field?

I still think sean is one of the best going around, but can't put him in doesn't play enough, he'd have a wedding or be at the races anyway so would be unavailable:rolleyes:

I wouldn't think quicky would be that bad in the field keeps himself fit, but that is a fair point.
It is a younger blokes game.

new on this but i do know it all. big tip sam farnsworth training with st joeys this friday night. theres another one gone after babbs lodged his clearance last week. whos next???

newcomb falling to pieces, by the looks of things it could be new coach new captain new team as another leaves the club. joeys could be mixing it with the best this year a real show. opinions? Also rumoured Jason Murry has returned home to play for corio. Big move, good player, must be a bit of COIN!!!

I would definitely have Salts in my team, bowls handy offies and can smash it a mile, good in the field also. I'm bias because i play with him every week but he would be great in 20/20!

I'd have salts in mine also, he plays t20 every time he goes out to bat, had plenty of practice:D

UMPIRING OURSELVES??

Yeh cant wait to play east belmont with them umpiring themselves... Its pretty disgraceful the stuff that goes on with some teams in lower grades-- imagine when they have a shed load to play for in the final game of the 1's season!

Umpiring ourselves was in reference to the early rounds of a proposed 20/20 knockout, not the season proper!

true that.. who'd be the better fielders in the league who would be best suited to 20/20?

Youd need to clear him from that particular XI of "Top Blokes"...and im tipping that wouldnt be an easy task if the commitee is anything like the stars of the team.

Murry wouldnt leave st albans for any money, he is happy their and playin good cricket and wont leave because they are good blokes. Thanks newcomb for kicking him out, why the hell you kicked your best player out of the club is beyond me, but your stupidity has certainly benefited st albans :):):)

also best wishes to jeremy babb, respected cricketer and good bloke!!
He must not be as bad as you make him out if you all talk about him!

What are you on about Sharp Shooter?
A post ago you were saying his playing at Corio for huge COIN now your stating that he wouldn't leave St Albans for cash.

Here's a little hint: "Fact up before you Post up" ;)

Is Jeremy Babb over-rated?

hehe, I think u wanted to start a stir session again :) Not sure if he is overated, I think you need to look at the age of the kid, and he has played a fair bit of 1st XI cricket already. He is a good solid player and will add a fair bit to South in regards to his spin bowling and his hard hitting batting. Let's see how he goes this season to determine if people think he is over-rated.

I will openly admit that i havent the faintest at who Seany O is, but ive read 30 times from people in here that hes potentially the best keeper batsman in geelong behind A.Borovic. Then i hear how he barely plays and has never taken it seriously and couldnt care less. How could he be THAT good? Or is it a case of "N.Ablett-ism"?
Ie. COULD he be awesome if he actually cared and wanted to be there...but rarely showed it? I know alot of people who reckoned Nath was going to be awesome (inc myself) based on how much he showed as a junior. They still think he is awesome, even though on the big stage he was just plain average.

Like i said, i have never seen him that im aware of, so im not having a go at Sean 0- he could be a freak for all i know!

Having played a lot of cricket with Kookaburra balls, there is no doubt they are well and truly worth the extra $. They will improve the standard of cricket by allowing those bowlers to have the ability to use it, an opportunity to be more competitive on flat tracks. The balls last longer, stay harder longer, maintain their shine longer and move in the air more. If the gca is serious about cricket, they need to make the change. Interesting why they use kooka's in country week not platypus.

Sorry folks!!! Platypus again this year. One committee member wouldn't budge.

That's dissapointing!
Any particular reason behind the committee member not being swayed towards the kooka?

I think you're right; he is reasonably young; not too sure how old exactly. However, you are also right in that he has played a first bit of 1st XI cricket and also been down at Geelong and I can't remember too much of him really contributing big numbers.

Not sure, but it's fair to say this committee member has never used either ball and will never use them. How 1 committee person can rule over the rest of them is beyond me. As I have said before on this forum Soft Cock Leadershtp from Agg.

That is bloody dissapointing. It appears as though that committee member was probably looking at it from a monetry perspective. What is suprising is that EVERYONE has to agree to get something changed. How can a committee operate like this? It is not like it is a murder trial or something.|@

what's the big issue anyways with him being named?

BigCricket is a site used by hundreds of people per day, the majority of whom choose to stay anonymous. While local leagues tend to have a close knit community feel about them (opposition players know each other relatively well), this is still a public forum and revealing the identities of members on here is not on. Doing this only creates problems (sledging, swearing, further abuse and so on) which simply wouldn't happen if everyone had stayed as a simple username and I'm not keen on having to sort out problems between two players on here who are known to not like each other on the field (should that ever happen in the future).

If a member wants to reveal their own identity, that's fine but revealing a member's identity or posting a picture of a member without their consent is a breach of their privacy and such a practice won't be tolerated on BigCricket.

Gee that is severely dissapointing, you speak to all the players who have used the kooka's before and they prefer them over the platypus.

Are you implying that the committee member who made the judgement is in fact a female? ;)
