Cheeters2008,When you have as much success as the Dino's, comment then. You couldn't hack it in GCA so good luck on the beach. BPCA have some very good Cricketers and you will be found out, so talk it up, Jones and Murray will tear you apart.

checked it was 2000/01 and in the Grand Final against AT in Div 2 at the West Oval. AT was bowled out cheaply for 93 and in reply South Barwon batted to 4/127. I suppose with the opposition being bowled out rather cheaply then you generally make sure you have snubbed out the result rather than leaving the game open. Anyway in the past and not much of a big deal :)

have the very scorebook in front of me. The game was of course a 2 dayer and by the looks of it South merely batted on (for a total of 11 overs after they passed AT) to ensure no outright result would be possible....

We (GWSC) took on Jan Juc at Bakers oval this round, and had an easy victory having rolled them for 102 with Col Bride taking 5-42 in a superb spell that set the game up along with Adam Melville who bowled super in the 1st dig picking up 1-8 off 7 overs Jan Juc didn't have a player score over 25.
We had to bat for a bit on day one and we smashed them to all parts making it to 2-80 over night with Adam Melville smashing the hapless JJ attack apart to be 45n.o and the Cheetahs all but sewing up victory on day 1.

When we returned Saturday with the game over we wrapped thing up fairly quickly Adam Meville eventually out for 53, we continued on looking for quick runs and ended up losing a fer quick wickets and dismissed for 173, with an outright on the cards we had a red hot crack having them 2-2 we thought we would roll them again but a good partnership between Salisbury(53) and Lucas(63) put that beyond doubt with JJ finishing on 3-131 with Adam Melville picking up the 3 wickets in a MOM effort.

3.A.Melville 2.C.Bride 1.J.Mauncey

We take on St Albans next week it what should be a big chance for us to get our 2nd win and set up the season for us in the BPCA

We'll be looking to attack against them this week having seen them looking very unsteady in the middle order against Barrabool on Saturday.

Newcomb are shit and your batting isn't any good if Koliba doesnt get runs you will be stuffed

Newcomb & District 0-11 on there way down to div2

Is there any chance that you are Paul Parker GWSC president? The crap you write on here is somewhat similar to the crap he said in the paper today.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

All guns blazing at BPH. They won with 8 balls to go according to talks amoungst the town. 8 wickets down (hardly convincing) Stace firing with the ball. NDCC looked out of sorts and need the older blokes to stand up. Too many people living in the past of what they used to do. . . Look out DIV 2 here they come!!!!!!!

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

I Think we can almost pencil East Belmont for a GF birth this year the question is v who? for me it will be Grovedale.

Mate the blokes been injured since August... hasnt trained... and has been in thailand with the missus for the past 3 weeks... We've had fairly ordinary numbers at training.. but plenty of youth.. so why not give them a run in the first game of the season...

dont worry about scown.. he'll be in the 1's this week.. along with kurt hiller who was unavailable

antsy bowls a fair bit of cut, looked like he was doing a bit off the wicket while he was bowling. Held up on occasions, so given a wicket the right grass coverage he could do a bit of damage. Hillier and Scown would definetly make their bowling a whole lot better and probably push back the two young kids that stepped up in Round 1.

Yeah but now with Tom New and Shaun Hooley in that side it's something like this.
East Belmont

The rest.

Hey ipl or Babies arm or any sth ppl. How is Babbsy fitting in? has he been all you thought he would be so far? I hope he goes well, he's a good young kid.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Barwon Heads look to be a commanding team this year along with St Albans, Heads who had 5 of there players out in round 1 will be hard to stop, its a shame we have to wait untill the last round to watch Heads vs St Albans, what a cracker it will be!

Jason Murray is set for a big year

Murray v Biddiscombe who ever has the better day could win it for there team!

yeah he is fitting in very well and it will be great for us to see him in full flight with the bat. He has not had a hit yet. If the Hornet was a better coach he would stand on his stumps and actually give the guys from seven down a bat !! hehe. Other than not getting a bat he is doing well in all departments, and his spin bowling is going to add an extra dimension to our attack. He will be very handy coming in after break in a two day game to add some power runs.

I'd agree with that Barwon Heads would be red hot favs to go back2back in my opinion, and with Mallet coming over that will bolster tho top order.

As for the Biddes v Muzza battle I think your on the money there as well, I rate Biddes right up there in the top couple in the comp if not the best, hard hitting bat that can destroy an attack and very very handy meds that swing both ways.

But there's a long way to go till then anything can happen between now and then, hopefully we can win enough games to make the top 6.

well while i'm on here i might as well take you through it. 1st hatrick come in under 14's and i would have been happy with that as i'm not a greedy person but things just happen to fall my way a couple of years later in the under 16's which it was back then and we played a super strong outfit in geelong cement (manifold heights) and we had a pretty handy side also with the likes of child prodigy steve daniels and a very quick shane dunne(both wasted talent) but enough about those 2 as this is about yours truly. had the 2nd over as dunne all ways had choice of ends and my 1st ball got hammered through the covers for a couple and i thought this was going to be 1 of those horror days then things just seem to pick up and the next 4 balls were all wickets and ended up with handy figures of 5 for 2 and rolled them for a total of 7. enough about me now, got rock hard just thinking about it.
Who against?
