Scary or what.

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

Just a reminder for all who don't know or are interested.
Tonight instead of training, feel free to come down to NORTH to watch the twenty 20 match up between North Geelong and Geelong West. The bar will be open and a bbq on. And I'll be playing

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

Heard tonight that Collendina are poised to be stripped of premiership points (all grades) after not paying affiliations, they were due in early November and have been reminded several times by the BPCA.

1sts are 2nd
2nds are 2nd
3rds are 11th
4ths are 3rd

I hope they can get this sorted out for their sake.

As in will all of their teams revert to zero points or will it just be a penalty of a couple of games worth of points or something?

this topic was raised at last nights BPCA meeting. check out rule 27 on page 16 of 2008-2009. here it is word for word.

27 - Affiliation Fees
Each Club entering a team in the Association shall on or before the 1st November
in each year, pay to the Association such affiliation fees as the Association
nominates annually.
Any Club which has not paid the affiliation fees by the appointed date, shall not be
eligible for any further premiership points after the appointed date for any grade
until such time as the fees have been paid.

Jan Juc, Collendina, St Leonards, Newcomb all unpaid.

Lets see if they are like the ICC or made of real stuff. im backin they'll cave and let it stand.

I'd say if enforced which I doubt they will it would be a max one win deduction.

Who are the other clubs?
I seriously doubt that it will get that far. It's got me stuffed how a club couldn't pay the $800 or whatever it may be. I wonder if these clubs are struggling financially or if they've just been slack.

EDIT: Just saw new info

Interesting with Newcomb being one of the clubs and Scott Smith has just stood down as President.
If they enforce the rule it will all but end any chance of any of these sides playing finals, there's noway they'll do that IMO

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

Jan Juc, Newcomb St Leonards & Collendina face the BPCA executives tonight in regards to losing or keeping premiership points.

I'll be interested to hear the outcome if anyone knows what happens.

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

It's only going to be 33 on Saturday according to todays forecast, down from the 40 that they predicted at the start of the week.
