um not on your life!@@

call it bitterness if you like, i just saw 1st hand what they and camrea did to our comp. but thats not for this forum.

lets hope the HDCA can survive, does anyone really know where it stands at the moment??
where do people think the clubs will go??

Edinburgh to ECA and Rosanna to DVCA

Can it survive without these two??

Rumuors of Banyule and Heidelberg to DVCA?? anything else?

I'm interested why you say it's not for the forum. You're going around claiming that one club (clearly more successful than yours) has ruined two competitions but then you think it's too innappropriate to explain why? I find that extraordinarily hard to accept.

Banyule to ECA I've heard.

East Ivanhoe to abandon any form of merger and play futsal instead
Old "Fold" Ivanhoe to try their hand at synchronised swimming at the Ivanhoe aquatics complex just up the road from chelsworth

word has just come in that Viewbank have just signed their marching orders as Rick West is setting up his boys with Vegetable farms specialising in CABBAGE and LETTUCE up in a town called Yabba North just north east of Shepparton.

Sorry Northmetroboy, I don't agree that Rosebank ruined the HDCA. The comp's issues go deeper than that. Things have been in decline since Clfiton Hill and Macleod left. I thought the HDCA was going to fold when Greensborough left but with Rosebank coming in we hung on for a few more years.

It's sad but best to look to the future. Word around is that NMCA and HDCA execs are talking about a merger or takeover, so it could be pretty good if the rest of the clubs head that way, but I'm hearing Banyule and Edinburgh are favouring the ECA. The next few weeks are going to be interesting.

Back to the onfield devolpments of the clubs that will be alive next season, i had a source advise me that Premiership player Jack Langford has moved to Banyule through his connections with the Football club and has agreed to $200 a game plus incentives i know this forum has a lot of banter and false player movements but my source is pretty reliable and it makes sense considering he is a big name at Banyule Footy club and that he would like to become a one club player for both footy and cricket clubs. I couldn't believe it though that he would be sourced out by a rival club let alone be paid for his services.

Also down the rumour mill from my same source is that Jordan Samad an Henry Tyler will be joining Daine Watts (son of Rosebank legend Leigh) at Rosebank next season, this has been brought on by Rosebanks youngest player Allery quitting. In order to survive need to inject some youth that is why they have opened the books for these 3 young players.

Heard the same thing about fold ivanhoe, apparently Marty Bourke will be captain is he is allowed to wear crocs in the pool and it is almost certain the Aaron 'Azz' Lambert will be taking to role as choreographer.

Your post is extraordinary, i have never seen so many questions within the same breath before. Ill answer your questions in the order in which they were asked; I don't mind it honestly i think if the players are good enough to get paid then good for them they deserve the spoils of been a good cricketer and it should be encouraged as the better players get paid to play local cricket and anyone that sooks about it should be quiet and be gratefull that they get a chance to play against quality players.
Every club has the opportunity to gain sponsorship, supporters, funds and resources the ball is in their court, if they are a minnow club, instead of whinging about it get up and gain sponsorship and raise the funds so you can be in a position to pay players.

Not many have juniors, in regards to who is a better club that comes down to personal preference but look at East Ivanhoe, good juniors, poor senior club, Rosebank, NO juniors, great senior club. Depending on what grade you play but going on First Grade if a club has proven themselves in A grade over the years with flags and finals appearances that makes them a better club at the end of the day. IMO

no probs with any of that, your opinion.... using your example...if East Ivanhoe had 3 gun young kids, is it fair for them to be lured away by $$$$$$$ to a club who does not care for a junior program? consider that East Ivanhoe may well pay there players but cannot match the offers.

understand that and you'll see where i stand on these clubs.

I don't have any sympathy mate- Speaking hypothetically, when a big club comes knocking and offers these players money the club that is been poached needs to ask if they have done EVERYTHING in their power to keep these young players, and at the end of the day if these young kids are good enough to be targeted by cash they deserve to be at a club with the resources and coaches that will further their playing career and shouldn't be held back by a club that can't offer these services.

hypothetically speaking, why should a minnow club spend more cash to keep a young gun, the big club just ups the ante anyway

so you are saying that clubs that put the time and effort into juniors are wasting their time? all because some rich guy wants a trophy

I think that you'll find Shane Doherty will be going to play District Cricket at Richmond next season as well.

i've also heard this about doherty, the fallout from this is bbanyule are looking to pick up craig gogerly from old ivanhoe with that club likely to be without a team next season

Dangerous Dave Williams from Viewbank has agreed on terms and conditions to join the Olympic Colts could be a big in for them for next season.

Im not saying that mate, im saying its up to any club big or small to create an envrioment in which juniors and younger senior players devolpment is paramount and if a club is not getting the best out of talented kids due to lack of resources and coaching the smaller clubs have to expect the kids will look elsewhere

no he's saying that in order to retain these good junior players there needs to be some desire for the star kids to play there. why would they want to play at a rubbish senior club with no culture for free when they could play for money at a serious and professional club and win flags.

If they really want better resources and coaching to improve themselves then they should head to district cricket.

Some junior cricketers take time to get to that level, while some can just go straight to District level but the majority now need that middle level of playing a couple of years first grade then they are ready to go. Thats what im talking about the kids who are good enough to go but might not becuase they don't have the coaches pushing them to go to disrict, as opposed to a club deterring a talented youngster becuase the club wants to keep them.
