Fezz??? That wouldn't be the former great all-rounder from Beverley Road? If so I can see why your a bit sensitive about the weight issue!

What the Bergs need is a coach like ours - taking us for runs every Thursday night. If they really are having a comp to put on weight, put your house on Brad Gindal, I hear that boy can really eat!!!
No buddy, not from Beverley Rd!!! And yes, i have heard the same thing about him, i have been told he is pushing 120kg, geeeeeeezzzzz they bake em' big down Berger Town............

He may not be the best young bowler going around but he has a bit of a dip. Craig Stevens (if you talking about Crogger) on the other hand is a different story altogether. I see he captained Heidelberg on Saturday in the magoos. That being the case, they've got a few issues!

Talking of Heidelberg, we can't wait to play them. Hopefully we get them on a hot one. It would be great to see Jordo, Bubbles, Robbo, Noons and Russ running around sweating like pigs.

Heard that walker bloke takes a few angry pills hear and there, starting to turn into a bit of a steve favrin???
U carnt play the bergers in a hot cause half the side will turn into crackle.:D :D

Hawkman - We haven't had the pleasure of chatting yet, and probably wont due to my royal upbringing and being taught by mummy and daddy not to associate with the 'other' side. However we do have something in common - a low opinion of those at Warringal Park. We play them in a few weeks time and it will be a pleasure to watch them chase the pill around all day and them roll them for SFA.

Bluey you royal stroke, get offa you high horse and get amongst it. you aint better than the westy boys so get down there for a bevvy or 3 saturday.

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Just thought i would see everyone elses views on the upcoming comp. game vs DVCA, below is only my recommended side to represent the HDCA:
1. Alexei Kervezee (East Ivanhoe)
2. Dulip Liyanage (East Ivanhoe)
3. Brent O'Connor (Banyule)
4. Brad Shadbolt (Edinburgh)
5. Steve Nikolovski (Rosanna)
6. Andy Stuart (West Heidelberg)
7. Jeff Wilson (Banyule)
8. Brad Grindal (Heidelberg)
9. Ray Kelsey (Greensborough)
10. Glenn Butterworth (Greensborough) - Keeper.
11. Paul McMurray (Banyule)
12. John Raywood (Rosanna) - Captain.

What are others thoughts on who should be in and who should be out????

Not bad fezz..... I would drop butters and reward big H from rosanna for being a loyal cricketer of the H.D.C.A., we won last year with the big fella.... is that your batting order and why isnt ladd in the side?

Stewart hasnt taken a wicket or made a run all year!! What about stevens from heidelberg?? Heard he is a bowler who can bat a bit and fields like a fox!!

Kervezee has made 2 blobs in the first 3 games....albeit the 2nd quacka was a rip snorta of a delivery first ball of the innings...even the don woulda struggled playin that delivery...:p As for the rest, i rekon brid grindal with his big belly should be skipper, and ladd in for raywood. raywood not done much and already plenty of quicks in the team.

Yeah, point taken about "H Bomb", this would be my batting order and on Ladd, i feel that he would probably miss out on a bowl as Shadbolt could be the variation if required (Also he is in his 40's and wouldn't want to play anyway).

Re: HDCA cricket forum

In batting order.

O'Connor - Speaks for itself
Kervezee - Spoken to a couple of guys - Best bat in comp, wait and see.
Dulip - See O'Connor
Shadbolt - as above
Nikolovski - In great form Would be better if batting with fast runner (Grindal?)
Stuart - Hasn't done anything to justify this season but VG allrounder
Grindal - Someone has to eat the afternoon tea (and can play a bit)
Butterworth - as WK equal to H. Knows what end of the bat to hold- unlike H
McMurray - Good all-rounder
Raywood - Gets in for captaincy. Knows how to mold the team.
Noonan- Must be in. Best bowler in comp.
Anderson- In great form. Bat instead of Noons.

Unlucky
Kelsey - Liability in field, with the above team don't need his bowling.
Ladd - As above. Team harmony? Miserable old man!
Butera - Heart wasn't in last years game. No matter what you think about him (personally I don't mind him) he can bat.

Blue Blood, not a bad side however i feel Kelsey would be a better option than Noonan as his batting is obviously stronger and there are plenty of bowlers without him(My opinion only!) On Butera, that was exactly the reason i left him out, never doubted or questioned his ability to bat but when a group of blokes come together to represent the comp you want everyone committed!!! We will wait and see in the weeks to come who makes themselves unavailable again?????

my info has him as the single most important player man manager in the comp for many years! the folk at Greenys love him and cannot get enough of him. no team is complete with out him!! get Butera in this side Selectors!!!

dunno bout the dutchman. Seems like he thinks he is above this comp and therefore has no respect for the bowlers but dare say he can play a bit. Do you really need that many allrounders, could strenthen up the side with more speacilist batsman.
