There's no way BB is from Rosanna. He wouldn't sprout about Heidelberg having a suspect top order. The Sannas haven't exactly got the best record in big games. Lost the unlosable GF against Dads' Army when bolwed out for 115 when chasing a moderate score at Chelsworth and then got bowled out for 70 odd in one day GF! Both against the Bergs. Off the top of my head over the past 5-6 years, the 2 have played half a dozen or so times in finals and the score is 5-1.
captain cream you hail from preston are you a jika jika rep. whats your story or just a stuck up heidelberg of slime player?

Re: HDCA cricket forum

I did notice the boys from brunny street smashed ther bergers on the weekend.
Sleeping giants.
Good for the comp when the international all star & burras are winning.
Next for the slime.

the lads were superb to match the might of the tigers from heidelberg! certainly would have proven to be a powerhouse had they succeeded in their recruiting push to get the former Coach from tigerland! beware the chaps from Brunswick st! i sat smoking some choice product and was blown i can tell ya.

Wouldn't say they smashed The Bergers, got over the line in the last over in a closely fought out game. Well done to Shadders and the boys on a win that was a must for them, evens up the ladder in what was starting to look lop sided once again, looking forward to the next few games to shape the 4!!

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Big scores all-round. Great effort by Butera and Kelsey but I would love to see those last 7 overs come back and bite them on the ar#se. 18 runs off seven with 8 wickets left. Apparently a couple of blokes playing for red-ink bigtime!!

I see that Heidelberg's top order failed again. 4-50 or similar. Great effort to make 300plus but as i said earlier there top order is putting plenty of pressure on the middle order.

What are peoples thoughts on the comp team. The way I see it a number of blokes pick themselves.

O'Connor
Butera
Dulip
Shadbolt
Niko
Kelsey
Butterworth
McMurray
Grindal
Raywood
H Bomb

Jeff Wilson 12th man

Can't see either H Bomb or JR being picked. No room for H with Butters batting so well and johnny isn't fit and has only 2 wickets for the year!

bit harsh on the bergers top order....ajuna singh opened and made 30, smout made his top score in 4 season (6) and grindal was a touch unlucky...in saying all that the crazy bears do have 2 of the best bowlers going around in the comp.

with the comp team cant see JR getting a gig with that many pace bowlers in the team and he should definaltey make room for classy craig ladd who is a genuine all rounder these days. brid grindal is coming in a bit low there at 9 seeing he has made a couple of biptys this year. also surely ronald gardner has just about played himself into contention for the comp side wat are peoples thoughts?

Re: HDCA cricket forum

intertesting squad there tracey thanks for spreading the word

i was reading the reviews for this weeks game and saw this written: "while some entertaining stroke play from youngster Bryan Dowdy"

bryan dowdy is the master of a different kind of stroke play...and it definatley isnt on the cricket field!!

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Who do Toohey & kostinikos play for? Never heard of them! I would have thought the dutch guy, Harbison and possibly Walker from Heidelberg would have got picked before a couple of these names.

Re: HDCA cricket forum

yes the dutch bloke was definaltey named, and come to think of it walker might have been named aswell.....harbinson absolute no chance apparntly one of the selectors played him this year in an A grade game and there was sauce and pastry all over the pitch coz of the pies harbinson was sending down

Are you playing H as a specialist number 11 bat? Tend to agree with Crispy that JR might struggle to get a game due to injuries however going on the weekends performance he might have put his hand up as a middle order pinch hitter!!! (Spot seems to be vacant as Chickenman hasn't carved them up this year as yet!!) You seem to enjoy seeing HCC fail at the top of the order, as do many however i can guarantee you that if i ever found out who you played for you would want to be able to bat!

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Playing H as the specialist keeper and Buterworth as a batsman. Surely both warrant selection this way. Butterworth in great form and H by far the best keeper in the comp.

Don't think it is necessary to play a specialist keeper, better off playing another batsman/bowler ie. A Stuart - proven performer in rep. games even though his form hasn't been the best this year. Other than this your side looks ok.

Methinks Tracy you are having a lend, Smout struggles ordering KFC, let alone captaining a side. I also would like to know who this kostanikos is, no mention of any registered player by that name

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Wally - are you any relation to a famous QC that was once involved with the Gorillas?;)
