Rumour going around the traps is that HDCA have failed in picking up clubs for new season and have gone back to Jika to ask for merger again. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

And if so what sort of a position does it pur hdca in when they knocked back proposal a year ago and now go crawling back?

Outside Info - My mail is that the first part of your quote is correct. The second part about the HDCA crawling back to the NMCA couldn't be further from the truth. Due to a couple of your clubs thinking about jumping ship the NMCA has come back to the HDCA with a revised proposal not vice versa.

The new proposal - I'm told - differs greatly from the original that was voted against by the HDCA clubs in August last year.

Who knows - this may be the infancy of the best local cricket competition in metro Melbourne.

Crispy - good to get a proper response on this forum!

I hear that a couple of clubs were considering jumping across to HDCA last year but have all recommited to nmca so i doubt that nmca is worried about clubs at the moment and certainly it's a bit unclear who went to who with the new proposal as my sources are certain it was HDCA this time but either way i certainly agree with you on your third point, if all clubs come to the table this could well be the birth of the best local comp going around.

My question is will the clubs from hdca come to the table this time or will they vote it out again?

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Have it on very good authority that it was the HDCA that approached the NMCA.
There were 4 clubs approached last season by someone on behalf of the HDCA, to see if there was any interest in those clubs moving across to the HDCA from the NMCA (Formerly Jika CA).

I know that 1 club looked at the benefits of changing, but couldn't see enough of an upside to do so.

Yeah Simon is playing at hurstbridge.... 1 good year and he thinks his a champion.. not sure why he would wanna leave now!!!! as for R . Arnold crimba... he is going to view bank for some cash. Rosanna are my flag fav this year.. they were too good in last year grand final, and i'll think they'll be too strong again.

Re: HDCA cricket forum

huss is a big loss for the rosanna boys i can't see all those experienced players from heidelberg who perform on a regular basis playing twos. haven't heard much from the bunyule boys has occar hit his 50000 balls for pre season yet

Too good in last years Grand Final???? Even you Warney are not stupid enough to believe that.... As for too strong again we will have to wait and see what they dish up this year??
All the best to Simon at Hurstbridge, quality bloke that will be missed around the Hawk's Nest.

Has he definately gone to District? If so it will leave a huge hole in the Sanna's top order, maybe JR will bat at 3/4 all year and not bowl.......na, he wouldn't do that!!!!!

Re: HDCA cricket forum

this news will send shock waves through the hdca...brad grindal is out for the year! i repeat he is out for the year! apparntley was last seen leaving the heidelberg rooms at 11pm satday nyt celebrating the footys blokes premiership in an ambulance suffering from the deadly dimsimitus. Surgeons had to cut his stomach open (which was a 72 hour procedure) and to the shock of the doctors they found 849 mini dim sims in his stomach!

the news has delighted joffa wilson as this year will now be the first time in 5 years that a heidelberg bowler other than grindal has got his scalp!

west 08/09!!
