Help me Buy a Full Cricket Kit???

Re: Help me Buy a puma ballistic bat???

Man those deals are great. I mean real bargains. That GM Purist one is good. If only I had a spare $700 lying around ::)...

Re: Help me Buy a puma ballistic bat???

The deals are pretty good, although with a little bit of shopping around you can almost match them but that place has it all in one location.

i was going to buy a kit from them but they cant ship to canada why?

Some companies will, some won't due to the cost and the hassle of shipping. It's not just a case of popping something in a box and sending it over, there are forms to fill out, taxes to pay etc.

As soon as I have some news it will be posted up.

Re: Help me Buy a Full Cricket Kit???

Yeh, customs tax is mega expensive on anything over £100. You sure there's no local cricket shops in your area ? Canada has a national team so there must be somewhere to get gear surely ?

Re: Help me Buy a Full Cricket Kit???

Having spoken to a few people the likely cost of shipping kit to Canada is around the £80 ($158) mark (for bat, pads, gloves and holdall).

Re: Help me Buy a Full Cricket Kit???

Your best bet is www.cricketdirect.com (they will definitely ship to Canada).

Although they don't have all the kit as in the one made up by Cricket Supplies, if you play around with some options then you should still be able to make up an order for around $300.

Re: Help me Buy a Full Cricket Kit???

I'll be blunt with you, you're buying a junior bat, it doesn't really matter if it's grade 1,2 or 3. You won't see much difference in performance, only in the look of the bat. Very often the choice is only between grade 1/2 or Kashmir.

If you see a bat you like, have a look at the makers site, it will normally carry more information than most shops do. If you find something other then Gunn and Moore that you like, drop the company an e-mail asking of they have any retailers in Canada or the US. Most will have something and it will save you a fair bit on postage.

ok mate i dont know what size pads and gloves i need to buy and its getting really expensive its is like $430 with bat, gloves, pads, thigh pads, chest pad and helmet and i dont get a bag which sucks is there any other site avalible thats ships to canada and is cheap because cricket direct wont give me a discount

Re: Help me Buy a Full Cricket Kit???

Based on your height then you will want youths or small mens pads and gloves - there is a really good guide here - http://www.owzat-cricket.co.uk/size_guide/size_guide.htm.

I would pester cricket direct - you are buying a lot of kit from them so they should give you a little bit of discount, especially as the shipping will cost in the region of $160.

I would suggest maybe buying the helmet, thigh and chest pads local to you (if possible) as they are all much of a muchness and you're not really gaining anything by paying the extra shipping.

Also, have you have a word with anybody at your club or school mates as to where they get their kit from? I find it hard to believe that there aren't more companies stocking cricket kit in Canada, especially as they are one of the better associates.

I do know of one or two other sites that may ship to Canada but they only carry one or two manufacturers as they are factory shops, however you would get better customer service from them and they may have a little more leeway in order to give discounts.

Try contacting the cricket board of Canada - http://www.canadacricket.com/home.htm or your local area board - which is probably going to be - http://www.cricketstar.net/tdca/ (sorry I'm poor on Canadian geography) but they may also be able to point you in the right direction for some more local kit.
