Re: Indian Premier League

wow he just needed 1 more hit to get there. im short of words to describe this innings. hes just blown everyone away with this innings. hes totally dominated the bowling and even his partner. laxmans contribution to the 130 run partnership has been just 20 something. it must be said that the bowling has been very poor.

Re: Indian Premier League

It has been a special innings by Gilchrist. Im ashamed to say that I'm a fan of Mumbai Indians because of the pathetic performance they have put up today. Deccan have scored at around 13 an over. They have bowled a lot of short deliveries on the leg side.

Ha ha top edge for six. Thats the only way Laxman could hit a six.

Re: Indian Premier League

deccan chargers win by 10 wickets. fantastic win for them and hopefully they'll continue winning for the rest of the tournament. symonds is leaving but then they have gibbs to replace him so not much of a loss really.

Re: Indian Premier League

Awesome hitting from Gilly!!

Looking ahead to tomorrows game Chennai v Bangalore ... when do the Aussies go back home because without Hayden and Hussey it could make it a different game!!

Re: Indian Premier League

Mumbai has a terrible team. Its the end of the road for us. There is no way this team will make it to the next round. I wonder if they will win even one game.

i think they are going back in the next 2-3 days. tomorrows game will certainly be the last one for hussey and hayden. they've got fleming to replace hayden and morkel will probably replace hussey in the middle order but of course the team will not be the same after those two return.

this stadium is absolutely fantastic. easily the best in india. i hear that they are going to constuct a roof over this stadium. it will be awesone to have a indoor stadium in india.

Re: Indian Premier League

Awesome stadium - thanks for that ... so those 2 will be playing tomorrow then ..?! ... moneys still on Chennai then!

Re: Indian Premier League

They are available for tomorrow's game. I think the Australian players are returning to Australia on May 1st for a training camp.
Chennai have got to be the favourites as their batting lineup looks much stronger than Bangalore's. Its important that they win tomorrows game because after the Australians return they'll not be as strong and might lose a few of their games.

Re: Indian Premier League

Harbhajan has been banned for the next 11 games. So thats the end of the IPL for him. According to the video evidence the players where shaking hands after the game but instead of shaking hands with sreesanth he slapped him. Well that slap has cost Harbhajan most of his salary. He will get paid for just two games as the match referee also fined him match fees of 2 games.

Re: Indian Premier League

Bangalore have stronger team for today. I think they have a good chance to win today because Chennai havent made many runs.

Re: Indian Premier League

Just out of interest, what do you guys think of the Bhaji/Sreesanth incident? Been plenty of chat on it amongst the news sites but not much by the fans...

Re: Indian Premier League

That was some hitting by Dhoni towards the end of the innings. It took them to a respectable score which looked impossible at the 15 over mark.
Royal Challengers have made a good start. As long as they keep the required rate under 10, they are in business.

Re: Indian Premier League

Jaffer's hitting sixes! Nothing is going right for CSK. I think this will be the first loss for them. No Murali in CSK!? Have they gone crazy?

Re: Indian Premier League

I agree with you Jonesy. Finally some action has been taken. Hopefully he won't be acting like a tool anymore...well at least we can dream ::)

Re: Indian Premier League

I think there is going to be further investigation and some punishment may be coming Sreesanth's way if he is found guilty of provocation. There wasn't any provocation when he was slapped, but he must have done something during the match.

Re: Indian Premier League

Chris Gayle has been ruled out of the IPL. Its a big blow for Kolkata. They have Brad Hodge coming in but soon Ponting and McCullum will leave. They need to sign one more player to cover for them.

Lets hope we get a better pitch at Eden Gardens and proper lights today. Well I have lost all hope in Mumbai. They might go 0-5 down today :(

Re: Indian Premier League

I'm not tremendously surprised, to be honest. Sreesanth has always seemed to be a bit of a smartarse to me, and in a way, I didn't shed too many tears (unlike Sreesanth, it would appear!) when he got a slap that was probably long overdue. However, obviously a cricket pitch isn't the place for such things, and I reckon the ban Harbhajan got was about right - long enough to show that it won't be tolerated, but not over-long for what was, at the end of the day, a slap.
As for Harbhajan, he's starting to become a bit of a problem by the looks of things - India's very own Shoaib?

Re: Indian Premier League

Awful start for Kolkata Knight Riders. They've lost both their openers in the first over. The LBW decision against McCullum looked a bit dodgy, but Mumbai will take all the luck that comes their way.
