International Cricket captain 2008

International Cricket captain 2008

Hey guys i need some help with this game, when ever i play ODI's and bat i end up making a score of like 160-180 below 200 on a good batting wicket and with the loss of only 3 wickets, my batting teams run rate is pretty high for the first 10 overs then falls back down and my batters end up going defensive can someone tell me how i can score more runs in 0DI's with my batsmen. It's pretty frustrating defending a below par score.

Kinda bumping an old topic here, but who else plays this game. It's a quality game. Get it!!

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

Don't get me started on this game. A lot of potential but in the end they just started to release the same game, with the same flaws. Ok, it got updated stats and a new graphics engine but it lost me as a fan a while ago.

ICC3 onwards (The ones with the new 3D graphics) are pretty annoying, as it sims roughly one ball per second, as opposed to an over every second like on previous versions, eliminating the ability to hold down 'enter' and go through a whole session in less than a minute. Whether or not the 3D engine causes this or it's due to a different algorithm for simming the game, it makes it a lot less fun to play (therefore if im playing it on PC I'm on the 2005 version)

I would be quite happy for the developers to update the player stats each season and not touch the game at all.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

It just has so many bugs though and they never seem to do anything about them. It's stupid that once you've played 'x' amount of seasons you get no batsman and bowlers who average 10 or less.

As you said, it's a decent time waster but I find it too fustrating to be much more than that.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

I personally am addicted to it. I'm playing as Australia in my main game. I'm in 2012 and Pomersbach kills it. Cam White is also a very handy player.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

That's gold.

I'm currently touring South Africa in 2012. My line-up is:

Pomersbach
Marsh
Clarke*
White
Follett (regen)
Buchanan (regen)
Ferguson
Paine+
Johnson
Siddle
Hilfenhaus

I've got a game called cricket coach, if you despise icc (like myself) give it a go it aint bad and a good time waster.

no graphics though but i dont give a damn tbh.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

Mainly the fact that I suck at it turns me off the game

Every test match they would be like 3/550 and declare and then I get all out for 200/250.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

Ahaha, bummer. I just bat slow and bowl to their weaknesses and I win. :p

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

i do well in tests and 4 day first class matches but i always lose at 20/20 40/40 and 50 over cricket due to slow batting, how do i get quick singles?

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

Yeah, the ODIs and ODDs are tough. You basically have to increase the aggressiveness of your batsman more frequently. When they're in I usually make them go beserk and hope for 40 odd runs within 15-20 balls before they get out so my run rate is acceptable.

20/20s I find the hardest. Never seem to make a score over 150 because my guys bat too slow or they all get out trying to go at a decent rate. It's a balance thing and even though I'm in 2014 I'm yet to find that middle.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

Another question, If you have a 18 yr old fast bowler in your first class squad how do u train him, What i mean is you can choose different techniques for him to focus on, what should i train him on and for how long? I've been training his bowling technique as aggressive and and accuracy for a while now and he still goes for alot of runs in 4 day and one day matches, Am i training him wrongly?
