About a year ago, I damaged the ligaments in my left knee (landing on it bowling) - I'm 36 so old age approaching
I should add that I am a fast bowler and I think I tended to land with a slight angled foot so it obviously put pressure through the knee in an odd way.
I had an xray and there is no collagen wear or fractures.
This took quite a few months to get better and I tried some squats, one leg squats, zig zag runs, zig zag hops, etc. before going skiing on it 9 months later. Skiing was fine for a whole week and I wore a support brace to help (it's not a metal brace but one that is supposed to support development of the muscles by providing resistance).
I just had my first nets session of the year and immediately felt it again, I can't run in fast and land on it without it feeling like it's going to collapse on me again.
I'm wondering if I should change my action to help this somehow or what I can do.
If I already did muscle support training and squats it should be better by now almost 12 months later.
I feel like if I am leaning over my knee forward then it is fine, which explains why skiing is ok, but as soon as there is any backward lean when the leg is extended then it is weak. I'm sure my bowling action has the left leg straight at some point when landing to pivot on it before the arm comes down.
