Live cricket for free - is this for real?

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

The catch is that it's illegal (or I would have thought so).

Basically, they will point you in the direction of coverage from countries around the world. For example, say you wanted to watch Man Utd vs Arsenal over the weekend, you sign up for this and they'll send you a link to a stream of the game from Singapore or somewhere.

With the cricket, it may be the Indian broadcast or to some dodgy Sky Sports feed.

You can find most of the streams they offer using other methods but you need to download certain software which may or may not be harmful to your computer.

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

That's what I thought no doubt you'd sign up and they'll plant some kind of crap in your computer somewhere.

Cheers

Most of the live cricket streams on the internet are illegal. If its free, its likely to be illegal. Even many paid services are illegal.

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

Yeah - sorry for the rest of you out there. Here in the UK we used to have live cricket on the tele free of charge on the BBC (Apart from you licence fee - back then about £15.00 a year). That was in the good old days when we only had 3 or 4 channels. Now cricket has been hijacked by that scum Murdoch and only the rich/wealthy get to see live cricket. Similar with football in the country - someone I know just went and saw Arsenal play Liverpool and paid £180 for each ticket 2 of them went. Even at face value the tickets are £40.00 so if you've got 2 kids and you take them to watch football which is traditianlly a working class game you're looking at paying £150 to watch a game of football!

W'hey that was my 500th message making me a club captain!

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

dont use that site it has adware and spyware how do i noe my mcafee site advisor advised me so im safe :D i think ppl should download it! :)

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

if its stream no worries cause ur not downlaoding anything but the movie cache
i watch stuff online all the time but nothing streamed for free is live

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

The problem is that those sites normally ask you to download their software which can contain nasties.

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

I never trust such sites though. Even though sometimes they do offer live footage, its low quality.

What's the use, when we can watch it at TV's anyways. And for those at work, well, they aren't to be watching cricket. :p

We used to get cricket for free too. But BCCI sold rights to Nimbus for all matches in India and now almost half of India cant watch test cricket.

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

And their channel is extremely poor. The commentary team is horrible. ESPN are the best in India but now Test matches are only available on Star Cricket which is also not availabe to many people.

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

Hmmm, with regards to sopcast, how clean is the download? I'm pretty well secured on my laptop, but obviously ZoneAlarm can't do much about things I download willingly!
Understand that I would not be downloading it for the cricket, more for the Ice Hockey and Baseball, sports with next to nil coverage here in the UK, therefore (as far as I'm aware) I don't think I'd be doing anything too illegal, as I have no means of seeing the action through more official and legitimate means other than the very good but limited coverage on channel 5 at silly o'clock in the morning. If I wanted to watch a game that they're not covering, sopcast is my only method of doing so.

I noticed in the paper today the test dates bewteen us and the Aussies has been announced for 2009. Fat chance that'll be on the tele that scum Murdoch would have bought the rights and most of us as in India wont be able to watch the game we all love.

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

it should be back on terrestrial TV! did i not hear a rumour that Channel 4 had it back?

otherwise i shall be sky +in the tests!

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

With Giles Clarke in charge of the ECB there is no chance that we'll see tests back on terrestrial tv, unless they outbid Sky.

Re: Live cricket for free - is this for real?

which wont happen! but i do have sky and would be gutted if they did not get it as i already pay enough to them!
