Madrid Magic Team Thread

Re: Madrid Magic Team Thread

Im back boys, all refreshed from my holidays, ready to give the BC site a flogging. What a big week it has been. The Magic are officially One day champions. We didn't quite make the GF for the tests, and I see there has been a few tantrums!

Apologises that I couldn't be here for the celebrations, but I have brought you all home some girls from Thailand. Just so Biggie doesn't feel left out, I got him one too. HIs is the one with the adams apple.

Glad to hear about the 25 over comp, it just means that we will win the even shorter version of he game! When does it start?

As for the new team. I think its a good idea, but don't rate having a bye!

And Wizz, the DVCA won't get a team together, everyone there is too lazy to get anything up and running!

Good to have you back Tongs. @|

The 25 over comp starts just after the test Grand Final.

There won't be a bye.

It seems that way at the moment.

Re: Madrid Magic Team Thread

Jolldo, I can always rely on you to give the swift answers!

How will there not be a bye?

Hopefully a new team from one of the local boards. If not then we'll discuss the merits of a bot team which would be preferable to a bye imo.

Re: Madrid Magic Team Thread

Jolldo you could have a system wherby each there is 1 test match and the 3 other sides play 2 one day games each.

For example
Monday - Friday: A v B (Test Match)
Monday - C v D (One Day)
Wednesday - C v E (One Day)
Friday - D v E (One Day)

The negative would be hard to fixture perhaps (although not too hard) and the fact that teams would play 3 times as many ODs as Tests but just another option.

get the weekends off though. Jolldo can go to his parties now:D

But really Jolldo it could work as 8 tests, 16 ODs, 8 T25 games. I'd do the fixture if you want.

Good suggestion. @|

But another side is far more likely at this stage. :)

no problem, be very carefull of over expansion. For mine I would have just kept it at 4 teams for atleast the first 2-3 seasons, if their is enough interest give sides a reserves team.

Re: Madrid Magic Team Thread

I'm absolutely against having 5 teams and think a new team just 'off the streets' so to speak isn't a good idea, considering Hougie has just orchestrated the whole Chittagong Cheetahs with players who weren't even registered on BigCricket and no-one knows just how much they're going to post.

Their captain will be right on top of the posting. @|

Also, the 6th team, if created will be made entirely up of BigCricket posters.

Bringing new faces, along with 3 players from the sign up thread, an admin and two current competition players will make for a good side and a good boost for the competition.

I know who the Captain is.

But the new players haven't signalled their intent to play in the BCFCL, maybe they should sign up first before being put into a team which no-one knows anything about?

They've all said they're in in the Chittagong thread. Surely that is enough?

I can't see any point in them all posting in the sign up thread for the sake of it.

I mean if the new team goes ahead. The 6th team.

Where are all these guys who are going to fill that team?

The Chittagong team is a goer, it'll be a great addition to the comp but I don't like having a bye or a bot team.

In my opinion, before the 5th team was organised, a 6th team should have been organised.

Ahh, i see what you mean.

There has been a sign up thread on the Geelong and DVCA boards for around a month. The Geelong boys seem keen on the idea and do post alot. They also love to talk big.

A captain has already been sorted for the side and a preliminary squad has been put together.

You're right, it is an unknown and a bit of a risk but i'm fairly confident that this will work.

Btw, it wasn't my idea, it was D.K. (The admin) who came up with it and it's a good one imo.
