I only caught the end of his career when he was injured half the time, but he was one of the best players that I've ever seen.

He will be a great loss for NZ cricket. He was an amazing bat, remember him hurting the Aussies in Brisbane many years ago and too an amazing catch to get rid of Border. Will be missed.

I recommend his book, really puts his heart and opinions out there...as opposed to one recent release about another cricketer which is as bland as you'll ever get.

Grew up watching Martin Crowe, even went out to support his CricketMax concept. He was always a great thinker of the game, and he will sorely be missed when the time comes.

Sad day for New Zealand cricket. Was easily one of NZ's top players and is probably their best ever batsman to date.

Sad to lose him so soon.
