Surely doing things for the betterment of ALL clubs would be an ideal situation, and not just for the elitists of the competition. How would any of you guys run things differently? The comps run just fine. Can never please everyone.
Please. You must be from one of the those clubs who always feels they're owed something.Surely doing things for the betterment of ALL clubs would be an ideal situation, and not just for the elitists of the competition.
Okay what things can be done to benefit all clubs ? And what are they doing that doesn't benefit all clubs and just a couple?Surely doing things for the betterment of ALL clubs would be an ideal situation, and not just for the elitists of the competition.
The DVCA just administors the comp. It's mandate is not to run clubs. If you want to know what success looks like see Diamnond Creek who 15-20 years ago put a strong junior program in place. Now they are reaping the rewards of that vision. You want success have a 5-10-15-20 year plan. That is hard work and you need the people dedicated to the task. But every club can achieve that. Or you can be some clubs who year after year spend money on players that deliver minimal playing success and little cultural growth.Okay what things can be done to benefit all clubs ? Haha don't know how we got onto the topic of creek setting a platform 20 years ago, but yes ok well done to them, now how can the dvca fix what you guys think they're doing wrong? The DVCA just administors the comp. There is not much too get wrong to be fair as the clubs run their own race. But it seems every time the DVCA intervene or post a ruling they seem to get it wrong. The Dave Worthington decision was a case in point. Do you want the best players in the comp or not. It could be argued that including Rosebank strengthens the comp but then adding Dave Worthington would also strengthen the comp but was not allowed. I would allow full subs in any grade. This would allow flex for sides especially in lower grades. The junior development needs attention. Currently we dumb it down to the lowest standard so everyone can participoate. Thats fine but the good ones also need to have their skills improve. The Kooka Cup went some way to fixing that but needs to be more games. Somehow we need to play serious 20/20. Just a start.Haha don't know how we got onto the topic of creek setting a platform 20 years ago, but yes ok well done to them, now how can the dvca fix what you guys think they're doing wrong?

If they let Worthington play shield it would open up a massive can of worms for all clubs pushing finals then adding a premier ones player mid year. Wouldn't be good for the comp. Start of the season you'd have to pick. Premier cricket or local club cricket. There is not much too get wrong to be fair as the clubs run their own race. No not correct. Dave Worthington was a Lalor Stars player. He sould have been allowed to play.If they let Worthington play shield it would open up a massive can of worms for all clubs pushing finals then adding a premier ones player mid year. Never been on here before mateWhat was your old account name mate?
So Heidelberg could have called Micky Edwards up from northcote and said mate come down play 3 games and help us win q Barclay flag? Not a good lookNo not correct. Dave Worthington was a Lalor Stars player. He sould have been allowed to play.
Not sure of Micky Edwards status but Dave Worthington wanted to come back at Xmas. Clearances are open until Xmas. He is going back to his original club. Not sure why he was aloowed to play but only where DVCA allowed him to. That is not the DVCA's prerogative. Administer to the rules do not make them up as you go is probably my point. So Heidelberg could have called Micky Edwards up from northcote and said mate come down play 3 games and help us win q Barclay flag? To win his local club a Shield flag? Most premier players still love their local clubswhy would a genuine premier 1s or 2s player wanna come back to dvca in the middle of season anyway unless he wasnt good enough at that level
