MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2010/11

The club that put in the protest against St Mary's was Sunshine Heights, hoping they win the last round and St Marys lose, however Sunshine Heights lost in the last round of the season.

Fair enough Scott I can see why you made the comments and too be honest I would have said the same thing.

That poses another question though???????? Why is the President of the Comp discussing this issue with someone from his club when they are not directly involved in the protest (I'm quite aware the outcome affects your club). Especially before the outcome has been advised to at least one of the clubs (St Mary's).

Daniel Bugeja Ex-MMVCA Administrator and St Mary's B Turf Captain.

Totally agree, but the person in question has shown his true colors over the years.

Loves to wear two hats when it suits,a disgrace.

If correct, pity their paths wont cross again, not next season anyway so I'm led to believe.
Tips - shite weather back the coin toss for the win.

Another note. Have to agree with others comments on this issue.
Why would the chairman of the association openly be discussing a situation he might have to proceed over knowing it would proberbly get out which it has, even though it was an non issue making another club which he is suppose to be representing as the chaiman of the comp look bad.

wouldn't be the first time they have dobbed a club in..... remember a few years back when West Coburg we cruising they waited 5 rounds before dobbing us in....costing us finals for the year

Sunshine Heights hey what a disgrace, really to be so low to fine comb a season to the point where they are double checking every team's team sheet, fairdinkum guys get a life its back yard cricket after all and really lets be honest they would of finished 4th and Glenroy would of basically have a bye this round cause they are no match for them so i'm glad St Mary's are playing them it should be a great game to watch with a few frothies as both club's are quite even...

My tips if weather allows full cricket to be played are glenroy just St Mary's to up and down but very very close game, St Andrew's cause i think they will be driven to win knowing that they may have another crack at Glenroy.

Okay, time to forget all this other rubbish.

The Cumberland Aged Care Facility, their kids and grandkids have made five Semi finals tomorrow and our Juniors are in the Grand Final as well.
I am very proud how the committee, players and supporters have given it a real go this year.
We have blooded a heap of Juniors through the grades and the benefits are and will come to fruition in the future.
The belief that we are old and over the hill (Me and bear are) is all good fun,but beware of aging legs that still have a little kick left in them.
Come on guys lets talk about the cricket happening at the moment and give opinions and views who and how teams will go in the finals.
Once again good luck to all sides (except against us) in the finals and hopefully the weather doesnt decide ,what looks like a good finals series.

F.O.S

I think I mentioned something to my wife once does that count?

Now Daniel we are simple creatures on this forum but you expect us to believe that you or Harry never mentioned any goings on while you were involved with MMVCA Executive. As I said, we are simple but we are not stupid (well a couple might be but let's not go there).

FOS, you'll be in your element tomorrow. Walking around the boundary, handing out "free advice" and gettling Nev's zimmer frame ready!

Good luck to all grades, not just A Grade. Tomorrow means a lot to all involved.

St Francis and Glenroy for mine.

Interesting term PARK CRICKET/BACKYARD CRICKET. With the amount being spent on coaches and under the table player payments it is no longer just park cricket. Look at what it cost to run a club now and it is a business all in itself. For those who train at least 2 nights per week play saturday, watch one of their teams on Sunday and if their wife allows see a junior game on Saturday morning as well it is much more than just PARK CRICKET/BACKYARD CRICKET. Looking at the passion shown by quite a few on here it would also indicate it is much more than PARK CRICKET/BACKYARD CRICKET and I'm sure the hardworking committee people from each club just love their hard work being devalued as PARK CRICKET/BACKYARD CRICKET. I'm sure that most of the retired players are still walking around their clubs telling everyone how much better they were in their day. Can anyone remember the past ! A cup of tea during the tea break and a speach from each captain and I'm sure you would never have heard any of those guys call it PARK CRICKET/BACKYARD CRICKET.
One thing that tells it apart from BACKYARD CRICKET is everyone has made a ton in the backyard.
