Forget about postponing the Grand Final for another week Guru. The way your team is going I reckon you could postpone any thoughts of starting a Grand Final for about 14 years

LOL- over bagging kingy and mmvca it's the Guru's turn. good luck to you Champ like me you're just a spectator this week

Just an observation- why was Tuffers batting at 8. Was he injured or was it a measured tactic

It was all tactical.
Been very edgey after christmas and with 12 runs at an average of 4 i think that it worked well with me making 2 runs more than my average in the semi final. Remember a Captain will never allow himself to bat below John Cacchione. When i bat the only injury that can happen is the keeper breaking a finger when he is attempting to catch the ball i have played and missed at or one i have final got bat too.[/QUOTE]

That's a bit harsh he did save you guys the game against St Andrew's....

Maybe as the capt you should re think as to what your in the side as, with an ave of just 4 and bowling to the tail taking the cheap wickets maybe it may be time to quit as capt next year as previously stated on here b4....

FFNB,
Tactical is another word for out of form isn't it. We play park cricket in a comp that standard has dropped alot in the last 5 years and the only thing you can achive out of this year is to try and get up people on a cricket forum.
You must proud of yourself that you have achived you goals for this year, If only you could get your bat or bowl to achive your goal instead of you fingers. You want to go at people like Kingy about his weight. Kingy will always be fat ugly and over weight and probably never make a run for the club and Jonny will probably drop catches next year and the year after that but as a captain all you can ask for is 100% commitment out of your players and these 2 bloke have given me that after christmas. So if you feel you have to have a go at a St Mary's player have a go at me for batting myself and kingy in the top order or having Jonny fielding on the fence. In saying that at least they make themself known and dont hide behind a name on the computer screen like some.

Not harsh at all he was 1 of 11 players that won the game against st andrews this year ask him about last years grand final when he threw the winning runs in the first innings and as previously stated on here didn't i do that before the last game.
And yes you would be right if i wasnt captain i would have probably been watching the semi final. The beautiful part about being captain is that you are the first one picked every week and you get to pick where you bat and bowl should try it some time

Well i did throw away a run in the 1st innings who threw 5 over throws though i think it was you and maybe as a skipper you would know when to have a throw at the stumps and when to hold it... So once again your capt leadership skills is put under the microscope...

They would have been out if i hit the stumps. Yes the throw wasn't great but if Shane had of been backing up instead of spectating he would of been able to stop the ball.

Yes Shane is known to day dream on the field maybe he is thinking of dinner or that McDonalds/Subway he had before the game's play....

Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat

Let me tell you boys lucky we're not involved in the Western Suburbs Churches Cricket Association, unbelievable situation. Imagine if the two semi's arrived on the Sunday to find that all wickets in the comp had been dug up! There would have been a riot and big cricket would have been smoking- We've spent 3 days on Johnny grant, just think of the posts after the wicket was dug up!!!!!!

Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat

Well Guru, it took a bit of reading. Sounds like there will be a few clubs looking for a new comp. Pretty ordinary effort but its not the first time its happened in that comp. I'm pretty sure thats where Barkly St Uniting played before they joined the MMVCA.

P.S. It also looks like you have to have a yellow or red against your name to post on that thread:D

Bomber they have been going nuts!! Apparently they were asked to play the semi's again this weekend and 3 out of 4 clubs agreed, the 4th being the ones the finger is being well and truly pointed at.

Your spot on, I did play and miss and I may not be up to A-Turf standard in the MMVCA, but whats your point?
I can't comment on anything as I am not a good player, is there not a thing such as freedom of speech?

That would make a decent change from the crap we have there now.:p

What a disgrace !!!!!

Two years in a row we have under achieved and then have the audacity to get on here and treat all this as a joke.

There needs to be some serious soul searching as to the desire and attitude to win the most important game of the year.

Park cricket or not, it is all about playing to the best of your capabilities at whatever level and certainly something missing there ?????

I cant take this anymore !!!!!!!

Totally agree....MMVCA you have done to St Mary's what Michael Jackson has done to 5 year old boys over an extended period. Yet you continue to bend that club over and give it nothing in return...
