If it is Jas you are talking about, we had no problem with him

7 fa I was having a chat with one of your club legends on Saturday and he was a huge wrap for Jas, said he was the difference between runners up and winning the premiersip in North a. Had a great chat with him, good guy and certainly would be a very positive in if he was able to run around next year.

I wanted to pose a questionfor opinion......

Seeing that neither teh A or B turf grand finals actually had a result (as in at least 1st innings points) what are peoples thoughts on the idea that when the day 1 and 2 are washed out in a GF, that the match resorts to a 80 over a side, ensuring at least a 1st innings result!

St Andrews batted for 60 overs and made 334 in great time, but still werent able to bowl out Glenroy in 86 overs. There was no incentinve in the end for Glenroy to make the runs. Is this too much advantage to the third team playing fourth??

I only pose this in this situation where 2 days of cricket were lost, coz if 4 days were played or even 3, there would of been a result.

Any thoughts???

In the B Turf East Coburg battered all day on Saturday and until 5pm on the Sunday.
In saying this the wicket was the biggest road I have even seen in my life and was impossible for the bowlers to get wickets.
Sunshine YCW commenced batting only for East Coburg to place all there players on the fence.
Well played East Coburg and good to see you stay around for a beer after the game. What a discrase of a club.

Surely the ground allocation needs to be also looked at as Pascoe Vale's ground was shocking and shouldn't have even been considered for a final let alone a GF. The wicket only gave the batting team a chance and the outfield was as bad as East Coburg attitude as a team.

One way of ensuring your firsts stay in A turf, why would Sunshine YCW take the field can't they say can't achive a result and shake hands. It looked as though they only batted for 10 overs, that's a long 2 days in the field knowing you need a result to win the game. Whether it was a road or not, good effort by Easts to bat for that long!

I can't believe this post. All outfields are stuffed. So rather than playing on an excellent pitch, you would rather play on a green top in a Grand Final.

Where would you have liked it to have been played?

Its unfortunate that the first 2 days were washed out, but if Sunshine YCW had two days to bat on a belter, they might have got the runs.

Major problem here is that east Coburg would rather win a B Turf flag than push there A Turf side up the ladder.

Not sure where the game could have been played as I do not know the grounds that well.
Not saying that our game should have been played at our ground but maybe the A turf or C turf should have been played at our ground.
It is the best ground / facilites in the comp by a long way. Maybe should be look at for coming season. Anybody who has played there would agree.

I have no problems with East Coburg batting the 2 days because we dropped a few catches and couldn't buy a LBW when it counted in the first day and a half. They are allowed to do this because the rules allow this.
But to place all the fielders on the fence with 10 overs to bowl and not having a beer with the other team after the game is a joke.

We battered the 10 overs because why should East Coburg get a easy win and just celebrate when they are all out. If this was the case we should have pulled stumps at tea. We made the GF and wanted to play the 2 days out. We would have given the 400 a fair shake on that ground and wicket.

Dropped him East Coburg are not renowned drinkers, going back several years ago probably more, there we're a few who liked to have a crack (the gilmore boys) but not anymore...
