Money Shield 2013/2014

BU cheated end of conversation

Not sure how you could say they cheated!!

Were you at/playing in the game?

I would suggest that the umpires dictate how many overs are to be bowled or not bowled. Looking at the way the game went, I would be guessing that the Camrea boys were the ones who were scoring for a majority of the day, so if there was a stuff up on the books, it would be caused by them, not Bundoora United who would have been in the field for most of the day?

I think it is fair we put the debate about the new balls to bed, big scores have happened over the first 4 rounds. No doubt they help the batsmen but if you look at the results each week as I do sides are still getting bowled out for low scores as well. Mont 70 against boro, camrea 88 & 90 against BU. Yes the balls go dark and soft quickly but still offers a lot to the bowlers. I've never been a big mover with the ball and I've got the ball talking this year

So because you've come on here and within 5 minutes of being on the site and posted 5 postslater, you've thrown a few digs at one bloke, accused a club of cheating, pumped up a side (I am guessing your club) who is not even in the top 2 of the ladder, and sledged a number of other clubs, we should all listen to what you have said on the balls and close the topic down. Because lets be honest, you clearly are an intelligent man.

I might be as intelligent as you, but figures don't lie. It's not a dig at one club it's a bit on tongue in cheek humour. I haven't pumped up my side at all as they don't require it. I haven't been here for 5 mins I simply couldn't access my old account as I had forgotten my password

Sounds like the type of bloke that would give an almighty send off to a young lower order batsmen when his team was in a very comfortable position.

Flog..

Noticed the 160+ over thing myself. I'm sure that will be sorted out. But if they've bowled too many overs I'd have to question how on earth that happens. I mean, both captains should have a clear understanding on how many overs are left, in an attempt to get or protect a result.

i remember a few year ago the DV had that strange rule whereby if a side bowled 70.5 overs the opposing side would have to bowl 10 to complete the days play. I think it was knocked out after sides started declaring on XX.5 overs. Perhaps the umpires thought that was still the case.

Great chase by Eltham. Heartbreaking for Monty. Dogga was a really good bat at EC, and if he finds some form this year Elthams batting lineup looks a lot deeper.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsover that Curtin (Captain of Bun U) would have been talking to the umpires none stop to work out how many overs are left, how many they had to face etc. Afterall, what the captains say means nothing. The umpires tell the players how many are left in the days play. So it is not really either of the captains fault.

Dogga has looked great in almost every innings his played back at ECC, and its great to see him finally reaping the well deserved results.

As I said, I'm sure the comp will have a look at both books and then go from there.

With the problem not coming out until the next day, I'd assume both Captains were under the impression that the correct amount of overs had been played.

Agree great chase by Eltham. Would be very encouraging for them to chase that down with Skips and Scotty both not getting massive scores.

Greensborough will go 1 step further, banuyle will struggle their kids aren't good enough, the old guys have past their time. Heidelberg will fade out as the season progresses

Would declaring yourself as Premiers after round 4 count as a pump up?

Agree totally with that. It just surprises me that it happens. I mean surely Camrea's captain is sitting there saying that's it... that's 160 overs. Then they confer to the rule book. (I know it's all conjecture so apologies if I've got it all wrong).

In this case it seems fairly clear cut, here it would seem like Camrea shouldn't have batted again. It's just.. if BU chased 70 runs in 15 overs thinking they had 16 when really they had 13 and didn't get the points, they'd have every right to be pissed off.

The other point here is... how badly are Camrea travelling at the moment? They've got 3 Sri Lankans on there books, and not a lot of up side. There 2s got peeled off for 80 odd. Those guys will win them a few matches, but I don't think they'll be anywhere near the top 4.

P.S. I suspect Pastamuncher is referring to the Round 1 match between GB and BU.

Evidence
Any evidence/reasoning to justify your statements or are you just making statements to stir the pot?
evidence hmm lets see, Heidelberg yet to play potential top 4-6 sides. Banuyle having to pull blokes out of retirement or bring kids up from C or D. Greensborough have kept their list the same. All bare the inclusion of this Mark Arnott. They don't have the Sri Lankans and their young blokes are leading the way

Full Toss, you said Greensborough will go one step further than last year. Last year they lost the GF. That would have them winning this year. ie you declared them the premiers.

You don't have to write 10 different posts everytime you want to write your two cents. You can write one post referencing everyone.

People will sometimes use seperate sentences . Like I have just done, to make two points. Maybe try that from now on?
