Although the pain is to the left of the left foot, is this more towards the back? If so, it sounds like Achilles tendinitis, which is an overuse injury and really needs rest.. I know, doesn't fit in with your plans
Rest it as much as you can, warm it up thoroughly before a match and be ready to ice it after.
If the pain is more to the front, let me know.
