Still waiting for an answer on this crap written a while back, know all asked ages ago and it still has not been answered. Caroline Wilson must be in on this scoop.:p

not sure about the first time registered as it seems you were posting back last season around XMAS. Good to see in your second coming you have come on looking to provide some useful pieces of information to people.

Ahhh, now I get it, you used to be Lions Den, but are now back being a good guy !!

Whilst in this vein, has anyone else noticed how all the old Smoking Joe contributions are now attributed to AB1?

that makes sense as Bourkey knows the Grovey guys pretty well with a few of his fellow English men in Youngy and Wainwright playing at the club over the last few years.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

I'll post this up so that hopefully this matter can be cleared up.

The system we have for detecting users with multiple accounts works on a various levels but essentially it flags up accounts being accessed from the same source. Further checks are performed with regards to IP addresses and so on.

When a match is found (something we see on average 2/3 times per day I'd say), a few things can happen. The user is generally given a chance to choose one account to use; once this decision is made the accounts are merged under the chosen name, so things such as infractions and posts are carried forward.

However, if there is no reply then admin will make the choice for them, normally picking the account which was accessed most recently. The user will also receive a short ban and warning.

Every case is judged on it's own merits and sometimes the merge will be done without prior notification to the user, especially if it's felt that they are trying to hide their identity/cause trouble or distance themselves from stupid posts etc. Again, the most recently accessed account will be used as the merge. This will only happen when it is blatantly obvious that the accounts belong to the same person (which happens more than you'd believe).

I'll be honest and say that mistakes do happen from time to time but as I said, the software only flags up accounts coming from the same source (i.e same computer for example) and it's pretty accurate. Obviously, there are families/students/flat sharers who get caught out by the system but generally it's fairly easy to tell when it's the one person with many accounts.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

technology has sorted this one out !! Lions Den is confused and is not sure if he is a Cat or a Lion or even a Tiger. At least AB does not get confused between Torquay and Grovedale because they are both Tigers !! :)

It's a fair cop. Was funny to watch everyone get their knickers in a twist for a while there....

Must have been some big mind changes at Newcomb recently

As of last week J.Harrison was coaching at Thomson and Janssen wasn't playing Division 2 cricket as "it would be a backward step for his development".

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

i dont believe this... i really dont think you would of confirmed this in the first place if it wasnt true. i know ur not the type of guy to CONFIRM something unless it was true, r u sure some people just dont want u saying anything about it at the moment?

Your right mate , I do pride myself on integrity and I was 99% sure. Things can change at a drop of the hat and I should have waited for the 100%. I'm not into misleading anyone and the people who know me, know this. Some things are still a work in progress. I haven't been censured by anyone. Hillgie is Coach & Captain, Josh is VC & Spud is remaining at the Dino's but at what capacity is still in talks. I can tell you Wookie (S.Wootton) is heading up the two's, so our Structure is coming together nicely on and off the field, just putting the final pieces together and should be finalized this week. Once this happens I'll announce it so we can all move on.

How's are you shaping up mate, you look pretty fit in your holiday pics? Is your shoulder all Ok now and looking forward to an uninterrupted season? Maybe another few big 100's on the cards mate!!!!!! ;)

you know i just love a stir mate... great to see josh as a vice captain he is a great young guy with a massive future ahead of him. yeah the shoulder is fine mate and hopefully i can get a few runs this year also . i think spud should of stayed all along he has been very good for the dinos over the years and i just think he would of regretted leaving.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

Hard Hitter, can you confirm if the guy who got stuck into blokes for leaving NDCC in the first place who then did the same, then committed to coaching AT, then after that went to a meeting with Highton and demanded $4,500 to play, Highton pulled out his stats and it ended there, who then quit AT to go and return to Thomson as asst coach and has now pulled the pin on them also is now going to return back to the dinos or not.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

$4,500, surely that isn't true? Not even AB1 is worth that much ;)

Lara have reportedly thrown around some big numbers for the 2 Ballarat blokes they recruited. Have heard $10,000 from a pretty good source.
