Should be an interesting year! Rosebank be up there or will they decline? Keon park the same? Lalor the same? Something too look forward too ! For what it's worth my top 4 is

3 games in and it's a very competitive, even competition. Not much can be taken out of the one day format but it's clear to see that last years grand finalists will be up the top again.
I just want to talk about the fixture... Firstly we shouldn't play 1 dayers. Secondly, if we do then Saturday/Sunday's should be a 2 day game; it's too demanding on all rounders.
Thirdly, the league need to think a little harder when it comes to deciding on the Saturday/Sunday weekend. If it's necessary to play one dayers then instead of playing a two dayer up until the 20th of December, why not make this past weekend (11/12th) that particular 2 dayer and play the 2 one dayers on the 13/14th of December giving us an extra weeks break!?
In my opinion, the season should start a week later, giving more of a break between footy and cricket, we should have Melb Cup weekend off, a week should be added to either side of Xmas break. There's no harm in finishing the season 2 weeks earlier... This way the fixture will relatively stay the same if we play

Hey Ricky, Lets not play at all!!! You don't want to play onedayers when the short form is what we all should be
playing at this level so people stay interested in the sport locally. 20/20 is the biggest growing part of the
sport in the world, people don't have the time or the inclination to play the long form anymore. I agree with your Sunday
point. We should be playing everybody twice in onedayers that would fix everything and if you want to play 20/20
enrol in the region comp.

I wasn't saying we should have the weekend off to watch the races, it's a time when a lot of people want to get away. This makes it difficult to field sides in the lower grades.
I like your idea but not for the top grades. Maybe A & B should be 2 dayers the rest one dayers, if we just play one dayers then the comp will struggle to retain and/or attract players, which it already has a problem doing. Something needs to be done though either way...

People complained about the fixture how it use to be with 12 team grades, people complain about having to play 1 sunday in the fixture as it is now. Can't please everyone all the time. Thought having the Sunday game this early in the season when the lower grades had not started was a good thing, compared to playing in a double header in January when its 35 degrees 2 day in a row.
You say its hard for the allrounders playing 2 one dayers, what about standing in the field for 80 overs and backing up the next day???? Thought the team that batted on the saturday would have a pretty fair advantage with blokes being a bit stiff and sore from the day before.

Yeah good point... At least you can relax for one of the days though.
I suppose we can't win. I understand where you're coming from but there's improvements that could be made.

Keon park's credentials will finally be tested this week but rivergum should get up.

Going to be very interesting to see what the results will be this weekend.North Brunswick have a game on their hands after what looks to have been a very ordinary effort with the bat.Still I will back them to get the job done.

Apparently Northern Socials have flown in some imports to help them in B Grade. Instead of throwing money at these leeches why not invest it into a junior program and you won't have to.

Not easy getting juniors in preston, crickets a dying sport locally. A lot of the young kids these days are out South morang way. A lot of senior teams are in dead spots where they can barely fill 2 senior sides!
