Nmca 24/25

Comp has been left in an awful position by that last dysfunctional and corrupt board. We need a point of difference to the DVCA now to keep our comp alive and that may well be turning it into a one day/T20 comp and maybe even reducing the overs in the Shield Grades. Losing Rivergum, Dennis and Holy Trinity is the ultimate disgrace of what the last board stood for and a slap in the face to the rest of us that stuck around. Our comp only gets stronger with participation and we can appeal to younger players with shorter matches and more fun. The days of 80 over games are long gone at local level. This is now a great opportunity to reset and attract players to our comp knowing that they don’t have to spend 7-8 hours at the cricket club and they can still contribute socially, the fabric of every club.
Agreed shortening the format with the exception of Jika shield.

Unless the shield grades become 6 instead of 8. Would give the comp a bit more bite rather than having weaker sides rounding out Jika Shield.
Agree with the 6 6 6 team make up for the 3 shield grades.
Two fold effect:
- Keeps those grades as strong as possible,
- Leaves spots available in those grades to entice new clubs across.
If the competition is to survive new clubs need to be attracted.

For the competition to survive the best place to start would be to get rid of all the people who have been responsible for all the terrible decisions that have been made , you’ll never clean up the competition while some sweep tribunal issues under the rug to suit , those who made decisions to kick clubs out of comp costing tens of thousands of dollars, those who cause issues between the umpires and the board and always seem to be a victim, for it to survive needs to be a fresh start. It’s an even a competition as it’s ever been now the big fish in a small pond can go see life being small fish but there’s plenty more clubs living on the edge of not being around. Good luck

The ongoing problem with the Nmca is the blame game! All sides have contributed to the mess that it has become. The outgoing board made terrible mistakes spending crazy amounts of cash trying to boot teams out the association which has left the comp in financial ruin and there has been other decisions which you shake your head.
But the disgusting scenes from that Camrea and lalor grand final which embarrassed the comp throughout cricket Victoria is where this all started. Lawyers, injunctions and legal jargon does not cover over the cracks of the continual issues that come from the Camrea cricket club.
The leadership of the Nmca needs a complete reboot and strong leadership to survive and the Camrea cricket club need to stop thinking the way they are behaving in park cricket is acceptable.
Stop the blame game and move on otherwise it will be RIP Nmca!

Not the first final Nmca have had with incidents Preston Druids and darebin chargers left the comp and now play each other in north west , just blaming camrea is getting boring also when some clubs lower grades make all sides actually look good. Punish who needed to be punished and put clubs on last warnings sad part is the decision to kick clubs out was made by an individual at Fairfield park after a final not in the tribunal. Every case has been handled poorly same people handled all and still there with the nose in the trough , major incidents left unpunished and no competition should run via email with a few making decisions. Has the new board actually meet yet or is it still the same people doing the same old thing? Has the umpires advisor been brought in from the cold? Or just end up with no umpires? The camrea vs lalor game isn’t the reason the comp is where it is, but if some people sleep better at night believing that good luck to you!

That's very funny.

6 team shield grades playing 5 x T20, 5 x OD and 5 x 2 day games?

Will finals still be 2 day games?

If so, 2 day games and probably 1 day games should be worth more points than T20 games.

Would be silly having teams good at bash and crash T20 and one day games only to struggle in 80 over games.

2 day finals . Hearing 2 day matches 6--10 points . 1 day matches 6 points. T20 will be 3 or 4 points . The clubs asked for something different to help maintain clubs and players . This is a very intersting concept with no Sunday matches apart from finals

Hopefully not - quality of the competition isn’t strong enough to support T20 games…

With the loss of multiple teams due to the defection of HT, Rivergum and Dennis , the clubs wanted something different to keep players interested .
This plan is very different and hopefully attracts some new clubs in the future .
