Altona Roosters would like too announce we have signed David Roach as our new coach for season 10/11...

I am sure David will bring a more professional and disciplined approach to the club and the committee beleive he is a great fit for our club moving forward.

Looking forward to next season already...

for your info played with rodsey and against pipczac and tooley through out my jnr years...... i was pipczac's captian in rep teams from u/12's to u/16's

a gun hahahaha he couldnt even represent our rep teams......maybe 14's 1 year......the comp batting trophies i have in the trophy cabinet must say i was no good........

rodsey best out of the 3.......imo well when we were jnr's.......all quality blokes just stirring the pot.......

Hit the nail mate, dont know who you are as i have never played or heard of anybody from st andrews, without a doubt i have respect for all cricketers apart from the very few?... if this helps, a descent player could be payed between 8-10k and those outstanding players even more , it all depends on the deal and the contract and wether you set your players certain goals per game, a while back i knew of a player getting a descent amount of cash but was set an average of wickets and runs a game or year not to sure, What club it was and wether clubs still do so is another thing. hope this hels you mate.

Any news on your turf deck? Are you guys playing down in Altona Meadows again? Having visited your rooms, it would be a shame to have that state of the art facility and have your ones and two's play 20 minutes away. If you managed to get the council to help you out? it would be a great spot for players and spectators to enjoy the game. $3 cans too, gotta love that.

money does not and will not buy success all the time..I cant believe how some clubs can throw 15-18 grand at one player.. Look at this seasons grand finalists.. MV probably spread that amount over 3 players and WC by the sounds of it didnt even come close to spending that sort of cash.. Yeah so good on clubs for working hard and earning it but its HOW YOU SPEND IT that makes the difference in my opinion.
Remember as well as getting a good cricketer you also need to get GOOD BLOKES that wont ruin the fabric of the club and actually add to the atmosphere..
So if a club has 18 to spend on a fast bowler and he takes say 35 wickets and only atays 1 season would you say it has been succesful??
From what ive heard MV had Pridham and Harding that took nearly 60 wickets between them for a grand total cost of under 4g's..both will be back again..

Well level 3a has been wound back to level 3 so every three grounds get watered now, not 1 in 4 so thats a great start.
Council have given us the green light in word but not writting we will have to wait n see. If not this season definetly next year.
ur right it is a shame we cant play on our ground.
Altona Green deck is a great deck thou, the outfield was awsome but suffered due to the drought.
Im praying for rain and lots of it.

Nah dont play for the Valleys anymore.... did in the past and know a few blokes down there.. from what the rumour mill has spelt out they have retained all their players and like all clubs at this time are looking at what options are out their. Your right on one thing though, Phil is a tool and their is no-one from there going to WC.. from what I hear could be some movement from WC closer to Melbourne though!!!!

North A, given the result from the promotion process was a 50/50% success with Taylors and Craigieburn i find that a surprise. Finished 3rd last year but finished out of the finals 2 or 3 years before that.

Thats good to hear. Love for them to step into North A and get slaughtered. Then they can shut their traps over on the willy side and realises that the VTCA North A is much stronger than Willy A turf.

I rekon Lavo will be buying up some players if they wanna be competitve at all.

i reckon if u r mail about Laverton in NTH A is correct then they will make sure
the teams are even at the expense of NTH B.

meaning teams that are being relegated outta or into NTH A this season will be looked at.

As it stands right now Cragieburn + Avondale are to be in NTH B
And Hoppers + Tullamarine into NTH A - I would think someone outta these four would get a reprieve and will not be relegated?

Also, any news on any new Captain/Coach signings, few clubs in NTH are looking?
Last year by now these forums were full of activity about player movements and some very reliable info was dished out - what's the good word on that front?
