u 4got 05/06 - thats rite gladdy won and paccoe were favs
06,07 - tl were favs they finish on top and beat gladdy twice during the year
07-08 - again tl favs after finishing on top and gladdy scrap into the four, tl beat them twice during the year
08-09 - tl outplayed gladdy when it was a even money bet on either side.

i'm not sure why all these paco boys are sprueking , questioning gladdy's ability in big games and telling the world how good they are , and that doesnt just apply to this sight .

the paco boys are a confident lot !

Its interesting though, in the last 6 years, PVCCC has:

2 Luscombe premierships
1 Runner Up
1 Gibbs Premiership
2 runners Up
3 Semi final appearances

Pretty impressive considering they are the one club that doesnt pay one player or coach..

They also, along with TL, have been super successful in their lower grades, having won I think 3 of the last 4 stringer premierships..

Tell me "Lakers legend", how would TL have gone without S.Lee, A.Lee, P. Thomas and P. Cutajar, all blokes who were getting paid the last couple of years?

Or Gladdy without J. Markham, H Shepherd, Both Pittsy boys, C. Wallace, D. Campbell, N. Fitzpatrick, R. Kelly - Im sure all these boys arent coming to gladdy without at least an incentive based payment option..

PVCCC (and TL for that matter) have built a very strong club around strong juniors and therefore can compete with the clubs that are paying "money" to their players..

What do you think we are at Gladdy millionares havent you ever had a new player come to your club and then bring mates along i.e New coach Wallace bought his mates with him. Its not always about the almighty dollar

Not saying they all get paid but just what you hear..i would have thought that even if there not getting paid per wicket/run they might be on an incentive based thing ie. 300runs, 15 wickets etc..

Either way the point i was trying to make was that before there were paid players in the comp pvccc won back to back premierships..the year that clubs started bringing in players and paying for them (ie. john markham GP and paul thomas TL) it will naturally be harder for clubs like pvccc who dont pay players to be as dominant as before as they have only very small avenues to recruit players (ie mates)..and the fact that we are still very competive is very good for our club and the strength of the comp (before losing tl) at the top was getting a lot better..

So the supposed decline somewhat of pvccc winning premierships can be attributed in part to money being paid at other clubs making them stronger overall..

And, im not sure which pvccc players you have been talking to, but most 1's blokes at our club are very aware that we have had some poor losses over our last 3 years of semi finals..

i will give you the benefit of doubt , we were all young and stupid .
