i come from where he did and i hardly made a run either last season well 450 plus.....a good leader makes a good team!!!

a good leader does make a good team but that dosent make him a gun , a gun is someone that wins games of hes own bat and with the ball and does it when hes team needs it , and someone that does it every year , he maybe a good leader but not a gun not even close

not everyone is tipping them on top but alot are saying thay have improved from last year but it makes know difference if they finish on top or not dosent make him a gun cricketer which is what you called him anyway you dont understand

bobby seems to be a reasonable leader from afar . within the inner sanctum , who knows . they've had a very good start , time will tell .
as far as ability with bat / ball , at best he will make 350 runs and maybe get 20 wickets . not a bad return for a periferal player in a team that has cpl match winners . the support players at syd will be the keys . they contribute , they go deap in season .
decision to call off round on friday was the best call the association has made since introducing D Viani to red /black club .

Paccoe where 2/80 when hare got 30*.. and bpcc bowled 20 wides in a 70 run partnership..actually scored more then sayers I think..
paccoe where 2/20 the next day when he got 83*..

bats - hackney number one in current climate . any one of 15 bats for second .
how you can put , say harey / trippy or erdo in front of the skipper of roxy , or the new player at syd , cant .

there isnt a stand alone bat or bowler in the comp , that includes hackney . if hackney get 600 plus runs again and plays a pivotal part in syd winning big one , he will be stand alone best bat in comp , no if buts !
bowlers , any one of 7-8 . no stand out . hasnt been since my man thomas left with taylors .
judging players , bats / bowlers etc is a simple process . " guns " win games !
there are players who will regularly get runs / wickets during season , finals zero !
big weekend of cricket with many questions -

havent seen the skipper from roxy or the new bat for the storm , telford ?????? hasnt made a run for 4 years and i agree with scalzo
Markham is the clear gun, followed by hackney and tripp.
Harey is consistent, Erdman would be top10, but its a long list after makham and hackney! Years ago Telford was probably one of the best but been quiet Lakers legend. Rumours have it Syd recruit quite handy! Bowlers in this comp = NO GUNS. Just alot of good bowlers GP PITTS FACKLAR, PACO TRIPP SYD CHARLTON KGG SCALZO CATANA CAMP HASSAN RASOL SHORE BP HAYES IS HONEST AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN BURNSIDE PLAYERS.
I think paco will keep gp on the floor, syd to continue there march and tip rats to lose there 2nd straight.
PS i dont know syd captan well but good luck to him for improving his team.

you asked how could you put tripp , hare , erdo in the top 5 last year hare 61 tripp 54 erdo 51 with the bat if you are talking about english from roxy last year was hes first good year averaging 54 , markham only averaged 45 last year and has yet to make a run in a grand final when it counts so he might make plenty during the year but yet in the big one

markham is a very good bat during the home and away season had a poor year last year by hes standards only 45 with the bat but when you make someone a gun that has to be a player that stands up in grand finals and he hasnt done that and they have played in plenty , great bat not a gun until he makes a big score in the grand final and glady win the gf, hackney,markham,tripp,hare,erdman,english, a long list after markham and hackney i would like to see that long list and we are not talking about players like telford etc who where in the best bats that was long time ago , we are talking about guys who perform year in and year out not one year wonders , so there isnt a big list at all without seeing the new storm bat who from reports can bat there those blokes i mentioned plus maybe a couple of more and thats it

your comments are confusing .
in one entry you rate markham , erdman , trip , hackney and hare in top 5 bats .
then in your last entry you define a " gun " as someone who makes runs in the " gf " !
well for the record -
erdman hasnt played in a gf for at least 8 or so years . not sure if he got any when they won in the early 2000 ' s
trip made a big one 6-7 years ago with little success with bat since .
harey got runs 6-7 years ago with little success since .
hackney hasnt played in gf in nwca and failed in his last gf playing for hadi/merlo in mid 90's.
markham has made cpl scores of 50 or so .
your criteria for gun bats is a little strange .
i have a simple criteria for all players - bats / bowlers .
guns are match winners . they win games for there teams . the bigger the games the better the players are !
i agree with tjs kats , there are no " gun " bowlers in comp . many very good to good bowlers .
with bats , there are cpl very good players and many good players .
markham is the class bat . no if's or buts . poor indictment on the comp actualy when the class player is well past his best and in his early to mid 40's . were are the gun young players ?
markham has played at a much higher level while the rest are good local cricketers .
totally disagree with tjs re. tripp . hare is best bat at paco and he's on par with at least 10 bats in comp .
dont know whats happened to telford . cpl years ago class player and easly the best " local " bat .
Reckon your a bit hard on Harey in finals, proven performer.. However did get on here to bag you bout trippy to but seems you may be on the money a little there, which was surprising to me I must say so fair point..
Had a look at stats on my cricket for finals;
Hare - 118,78,54,10,87,55,15,86,31(2nd highest score in whole GF last year) and 7 = 541 at 54.1 Average including 1 century and 5 50's from 10 knocks, pretty good going for me, wouldnt think many would be better then that but interested to see.
Tripp a little underwhelming agreed, especially post first 2 scores;
Tripp - 94,169, 6,16,83,21,0,53,16,26 = 48.4 at 48.4 average
Important to note though (whilst not talking about bowling in previous posts) that tripp has also contributed with the ball;
4/51, 3/34, 4/45, 0/24, 0/134 (wow bad day at the office!!), 2/106, 0/50, 1/14 and 7/34 = 21 wickets for 492 and 23, so pretty proven performer with the ball and bat as a combine i would think..
Be interested to see stats for
Markham, shepherd, telford, erdman tipping, hackney, english in same time period, might make intersting reading me thinks..
