Yeah, we need to bowl very tightly from the start... Root would be the ideal wicket to get first, but if we knock over Burns first at least it opens up an end & we can squeeze the new batsman.
 
Not sure Pete. Radar shows a decent rain band over London. Not a lot following tho and with the excellent way the Poms handle wet weather with the hover pitch and outfield cover.. I say yes there will be some play but likely after we have hit the sack old mate.

Bummer Pete. Why no reserve day locked in for this situation when an entire day is lost. The punters pay their hard earned so expect five days of cricket. The bosses best solution is to play next two days over 98 overs.
 
Southee had your boys in the box seat before Burns spoilt the party Pete. Losing Williamson for another low score is not helping. yet the 165 lead is a strong buffer. BC still with the upper hand tho they must bat thru the first session today with as little damage as possible to feel safe.

What ************** dumb batting by Wagner very early in the session - he tried to smash the ball 3 times in a row, the 3rd time hit it straight up in the air for an easy catch... we needed good common sense batting in the first two hours.

Just writing that Taylor is doing same.. three wild slogs.. one coming off. Doing his best to throw it away when as you say common sense is imperative.
 
You can see we are trying to get the runs quickly, but they're going about it the wrong way - want to see good solid batting in the first session, then in the next session we can have a really good crack with plenty of wickets in hand... the way we're batting we're only giving them a chance to win the match Craig.
